Sharon Stone opens up on the loss of nine children by miscarriage in heartbreaking post

Sharon Stone has confessed she lost “nine children by miscarriage” in a heartbreaking post as she opens up the discussion about female health.

On Friday (June 24), the 64-year-old actress took to Instagram to share her battle with fertility after Peta Murgatroyd opened up about losing a pregnancy while her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy was in Ukraine.

It is understood the Fatal Attraction star – who is a loving mother to her three adopted sons, Roan, 22, Laird, 16, and Quinn, 15 – was first approved to adopt her eldest son while she was on her way back from the hospital after she suffered a miscarriage.

She wrote: “We, as females don’t have a forum to discuss the profundity of this loss. I lost nine children by miscarriage.

“It is no small thing, physically nor emotionally. Yet we are made to feel it is something to bare alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure.”

She continued: “Instead of receiving the much-needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need.

“Female health and wellness left to the care of the male ideology has become lax at best, ignorant in fact, and violently oppressive in effort.”

This isn’t the first time the blockbuster actress has opened up about the painful subject, after the mum-of-three explained the agony she went through during “36 hours of labour” five-and-a-half months into her pregnancy.

She described the process as a truly “devastating experience” as she opened up about her miscarriage during an interview with BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour.

Sharon told listeners: “When I lost my last baby, and then went back to the hospital and had 36 hours of labour on my own to, of course, birth nothing – and the nurses that had been in the hospital with me two days before when they removed the last baby came in and sat with me on their day off.

“I really felt such a strong sense of sisterhood and understanding, because I would have been alone and that’s such an alone feeling anyway.”
