Britain’s Got Talent star Tom Ball has shared insight into his jaw-dropping transformation and admits it was “painful”.
The 26-year-old left the nation stunned with his mesmerising vocals on the iconic ITV talent show in 2022, where he came a respectable third place. He also made a brief return to the show as the voice behind Noodle the Cat.
But for those who haven’t seen him since his first BGT stint, Tom looks completely unrecognisable. The singer now sports a much shorter haircut and has toned up thanks to his efforts at the gym.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star about the changes he’s made, Tom revealed that he went on a grueling health kick. Hiring a personal trainer, Tom stuck to a healthier regime in order to get fit and gain confidence.
Asked if he found his fitness regime tough, Tom said: “At the start it was painful, but it kind of always is then you slowly get used to it. You find things you enjoy about the gym and that’s the one thing I struggled with when I was old enough to be going to the gym but not recently.
“When I used to go to the gym by myself, I would just lift the weights and use the running machine and I hate that. It’s monotonous, there’s nothing enjoyable for me about that.
“But my PT quickly realsied that there were things that I might enjoy and that was boxing. Like physical things.
Talking about why he decided to become more fit, Tom explained: “It was the start of 2023, I just came back from my honeymoon and I decided that I needed to be healthier. It wasn’t about losing weight, anything like that it was purely [because] I wanted to be able to stand on stage and feel good about myself and not be worried about anything else that comes with that.
“So I got a personal trainer who was instrumental in my change and the change that I went through which was gym, lots of gym and also eating the right foods. And also the type of foods in moderation. So I worked on that for a good four months solid, focusing on that but always in mind the aim of our time back on BGT being the relaunch of that.
Following his success on BGT, Tom later appeared on the US version of the franchise, America’s Got Talent. Tom’s agent received a call from show creator Simon Cowell who said he needed to take part.
Now Tom, who previously worked as a school teacher, is now selling out tours across the UK. Tom’s debut album, Curtain Call will be released on May 24.
