Jesy Nelson said during the first UK lockdown back in March, that she welcomed and “needed” some time away from her busy working schedule.
The 29-year-old singer left fans in meltdown after her rep revealed that she would be temporarily stepping away from her Little Mix commitments due to “private medical reasons”.
However, prior to the bombshell announcement, which left the nation hoping that she would make a speedy recovery, the singer had already hinted that the coronavirus pandemic – which halted audience-filled performances – had been a welcomed break.
Just days before band publicist Simon Jones shared the news, the Shout Out To My Ex hitmaker had said she enjoyed having some down-time.

Speaking openly to You Magazine about her lockdown experience, Jesy said: “It was needed.
“We’re never not with each other and we’re always busy. Our mornings start early, we finish really late.”
It was formerly announced that Jesy would be taking an hiatus from her girlband commitments, following a number of missed appearances after it was reported she had become “unwell”.

In recent weeks, the star had missed the final of the band’s BBC One talent scout show Little Mix: The Search and failed to host the MTV Europe Music Awards, alongside her peers, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall.
After fans became concerned following it being revealed Jesy wouldn’t be attending either shows, Simon Jones later confirm her temporary departure.
The statement read: “Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons.

“We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time.”
It is unknown when Jesy will be expected to make a return to Little Mix.
Last year, Jesy opened up in her own BBC documentary Odd One Out, in which she bravely delved into her mental health struggles after suffering at the hand of nasty online trolls.
The vocalist laid herself bare as she spoke about being compared to the other members of the band and how she couldn’t accept the way she looked because of keyboard warriors.
After a heft therapy stint, The Black Magic hitmaker eventually managed to overcome her battle and began to self-love with the support from her friends and family.
