Jesy Nelson Teases Solo Comeback as She Returns to Studio After Leaving Little Mix

    Instagram

The former member of the Little Mix has been back in the recording studio and hung out with producers, two months after she left the all-female music group.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson is back in the recording studio again just two months after exiting Little Mix, teasing fans with a solo project.
The singer shared what looked like a studio session photo with a guitarist and engineer and then followed songwriter/producers Patrick Jordan Patrikios and Sunny, who have both worked with Little Mix, on Instagram on Thursday (18Feb21).
Patrikios also shared an Instagram Story segment featuring a happy Jesy chatting to an engineer.
Fans are now convinced she has hooked up with the two hitmakers and Hanni Ibrahim to record her first solo material, especially after she shared a cryptic “Let’s go!” post and “liked” a comment about releasing new music on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, her former bandmates – Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall – are gearing up to release their first track as a trio, “Heartbreak Anthem”.

Nelson shocked fans when she left the band in December (20) to focus on mental health issues.
Her statement read, “To all my Mixers, the past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life. We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the O2. So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.”
“Making friends and fans all over the world, I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.”
“The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard. There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process… I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy.”
She added, “I’m ready to embark on a new chapter in my life – I’m not sure what it’s going to look like right now, but I hope you’ll still be there to support. I want to say thank you to everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.”

Jesy Nelson Quits Little Mix After Taking Extended Break From the Group

    WENN

Jesy decides to leave Little Mix amid her extended break from the group, three months after she suffered a panic attack during one of her final performances with her bandmates.

    Dec 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson has quit Little Mix.
The singer took to Instagram on Monday (14Dec20) to share the news with fans, explaining she wants to focus on more positive things in her life.
The news comes a day after Little Mix performed as a trio during British TV show “Strictly Come Dancing” and weeks after a representative for the band confirmed Jesy would be taking an “extended break” due to “private medical reasons.”
In an interview with the Mail On Sunday’s YOU magazine in early November, she said she felt the need for a break from her bandmates, stating, “We’re never not with each other and we’re always busy. Our mornings start early, we finish really late.”

A statement from the band, confirming Nelson’s departure, reads, “After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.”
“We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being.”
The existing bandmates, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, have also confirmed they plan to continue as a trio, dismissing rumours a full split is just around the corner, adding, “We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.”
During one of her final performances with Little Mix in September this year, Jesy Nelson suffered an anxiety attack. She burst into tears and had to be comforted by her bandmates during their Live Lounge show for BBC.
Before the panic attack, Jesy credited lockdown for giving her a much-needed break from the group. “It was quite nice to have our own space and time, because we never get time to just chill and just do nothing, so that was quite nice,” so she explained.

Jesy Nelson Taking 'Extended' Hiatus From Little Mix Amid Health Issues

    Nov 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – British singer Jesy Nelson will be taking an “extended” break from Little Mix to deal with undisclosed health issues.
The pop star had to pull out of appearing in the final episode of the girl group’s TV talent show, “Little Mix: The Search”, earlier this month (07Nov20) due to a mystery illness, while she was also absent from the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday, when her bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards served as the event’s hosts.
Now a spokesperson for the Shout out to “My Ex” hitmakers has revealed Nelson will be sitting out band activities until further notice.

“Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons,” the representative shared in a statement.
“We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time.”
Before Jesy Nelson’s health issues, the group’s talent show was forced to take a break last month after crew members tested positive for Covid-19. The girls along with the host Chris Ramsey subsequently tested for the virus and the results came back negative.
While he was “absolutely gutted” by the delay, Ramsey said back then, “Let’s be honest, I think if it was me they would just find another presenter and do the show anyway. See you all next week. Crossed fingers.”

  • Jesy Nelson Has Panic Attack During Little Mix Live Performance

    Instagram

The ‘Odd One Out’ star bursts into tears as she suffers from panic attack during a live performance with her girl group on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge session.
    Sep 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix star Jesy Nelson’s anxiety battle came to the fore during a BBC Radio 1 interview on Tuesday (15Sep20) when she suffered an anxiety attack before a live performance.
The singer suffered a panic attack and burst into tears during the Live Lounge session and had to be comforted by her bandmates.
Fans jumped on social media to express their concern, but Jesy was quick to assure them she was OK.
“So my nerves got the better of me today and I had panic attack right before we were about to sing this for live lounge today and like a pro @perrieedwards jumped in for my part last minute and smashed it,” she wrote on her Instagram.
“This is what we originally did in rehearsals.”

Nelson has been very open about her mental health issues, winning acclaim and honours for her 2019 documentary “Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out”.
In May (20), she admitted the best thing she did for her mental health was film the BBC documentary and talk about her struggles.
“I honestly feel like I was just carrying this huge weight around on my shoulders and for such a long time it was such a huge secret, obviously only the girls knew and people that I worked with,” she explained. “And then as soon as I did it (documentary), it literally felt like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders.”
“I think there’s such a stigma that comes with mental health, a lot people are ashamed to talk about how they really feel. A lot of people are scared to let people know that they are struggling and that’s how I felt for such a long time. What I actually learned by doing this documentary and letting everyone know was that it’s actually OK to talk about how you feel and you feel so much better…”
“For me, the biggest part of my journey was being open and talking about my struggles. That is the one thing that has helped me the most… It’s not just something that is building me up and giving me anxiety.”

  • Jesy Nelson Credits Lockdown for Giving Her Much-Needed Break From Little Mix

    WENN

Jesy says she enjoyed having her ‘own space and time’ from bandmates during the coronavirus lockdown following the group’s hectic schedule in the past few years.
    Aug 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson couldn’t help but appreciate having space from her Little Mix bandmates during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 29-year-old star, who released new single Holiday with Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall last week (ends26Jul20), admitted it was “horrible” being away from her Little Mix bandmates for so long, but told U.K. TV show “This Morning” there were some benefits.
“It’s horrible, we’re like family now, so to not be with them for this long has been horrible but I have seen them and it was amazing, because they’re like my sisters,” she shared.
“In the same aspect, it was quite nice to have our own space and time, because we never get time to just chill and just do nothing, so that was quite nice.”
Jesy, who split with beau Chris Hughes right before going into isolation, also spoke about filming the video for the new single without her bandmates, due to social distancing regulations.
“It was so weird. The minute I got to the studio everyone had to have their temperature checked, there were people in these bodysuits, these visors,” she recalled.
“Our make-up artists and our hair (stylists) had to have these suits on. It was the weirdest experience ever, but it was fun, but it’s amazing how they’ve done it. You would never know that we’ve been superimposed in the video, so it’s very cool.”
