Little Mix Enlist Saweetie for Their New Single Following Jesy Nelson Exit

    Instagram

Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall are teaming up with the ‘Tap In’ hitmaker for their next single called ‘Confetti’ after their fourth member left.

    Apr 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Little Mix will release “Confetti” featuring Saweetie as their first single without Jesy Nelson.

The pop group now consists of singers Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall after Jesy announced her departure from Little Mix back in December (20) for mental health reasons.

And in a social media post, the group announced their first single as a trio – the title track from their sixth studio album and final collection to feature Jesy – will be released at the end of April.

Little Mix captioned the post, “The news you’ve all been waiting for… our brand new single Confetti featuring @saweetie is out 30/04.”

In a video shared on their accounts, the girls reunited, with Perrie stating, “Our brand new single Confetti featuring Saweetie is out on the 30th, Friday! Check it out… You are going to absolutely love it!”

Meanwhile, Jesy is reportedly at the centre of a bidding war between rival record labels after she recently kickstarted a solo career with a handful of recording sessions.

Jesy previously said when announcing her exit from the girl group, “The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard. There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process… I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy.”

Becky Hill Would Love to Be Little Mix's Fourth Member After She Is Asked for Collaboration

    Instagram

The former contestant of ‘The Voice UK’ would love to make music with Little Mix after Leigh-Anne Pinnock reached out to her for collaboration following Jesy Nelson’s exit.

    Apr 4, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Little Mix have approached Becky Hill about collaborating on a dance track.

The “No Time for Tears” hitmakers worked with DJ Nathan Dawe on the track last year (20), and now it seems the trio – comprised of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall – are keen to work on more songs in the genre.

“I’ve had a couple of sessions with those girls, I absolutely love them. I would love to be the fourth member,” Becky told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “Leigh-Anne messaged me on Instagram saying, ‘We really want to write a dance song together,’ but I was in recovery after having vocal surgery at the beginning of this year so I couldn’t actually make that happen.”

“But it is something that I’m still very, very open to once I’m back writing music again.”

Becky, 27, recently started singing again, and she’s glad to be on the mend.

“I need to recover my voice. I started singing at the end of last month,” the “Gecko (Overdrive)” singer continued. “I’ve got my first proper singing session after having surgery, by choice, at the beginning of this year.”

Little Mix have been working on new music as a three-piece after the departure of Jesy Nelson, who announced in December she was leaving because of the impact being in the band was having on her mental health.

And it was confirmed this month that she’s set to launch a solo career under the label YMU, whose clients already include Take That, Steve Aoki, Ant and Dec, and Fearne Cotton.

In a statement, the 29-year-old star said, “I am so excited to join YMU and can’t wait to start my next chapter.”

Jesy Nelson Teases Solo Comeback as She Returns to Studio After Leaving Little Mix

    Instagram

The former member of the Little Mix has been back in the recording studio and hung out with producers, two months after she left the all-female music group.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson is back in the recording studio again just two months after exiting Little Mix, teasing fans with a solo project.
The singer shared what looked like a studio session photo with a guitarist and engineer and then followed songwriter/producers Patrick Jordan Patrikios and Sunny, who have both worked with Little Mix, on Instagram on Thursday (18Feb21).
Patrikios also shared an Instagram Story segment featuring a happy Jesy chatting to an engineer.
Fans are now convinced she has hooked up with the two hitmakers and Hanni Ibrahim to record her first solo material, especially after she shared a cryptic “Let’s go!” post and “liked” a comment about releasing new music on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, her former bandmates – Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall – are gearing up to release their first track as a trio, “Heartbreak Anthem”.

Nelson shocked fans when she left the band in December (20) to focus on mental health issues.
Her statement read, “To all my Mixers, the past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life. We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the O2. So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.”
“Making friends and fans all over the world, I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.”
“The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health.
She added, “I’m ready to embark on a new chapter in my life – I’m not sure what it’s going to look like right now, but I hope you’ll still be there to support. I want to say thank you to everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.”

Little Mix to Release New Music as Trio 'Very Soon'

    Instagram

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards have worked on new music as trio and planned to release it ‘very soon’ after Jesy Nelson quit the all-girl group.

    Jan 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Little Mix will release new music as a trio soon.
After Jesy Nelson quit the band last month (Dec20), Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards vowed to continue without her, with Leigh-Anne revealing that new music is just weeks away.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, “We have new music coming very soon. We’re working on something really exciting that will be out this spring, and can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
Jade, Leigh-Anne, and Perrie have just topped the U.K. singles chart with “Sweet Melody” – their first number one single as a trio – and they are over the moon.
Perrie said, “This number one is so special because the fans really fought for it. They’ve been downloading and streaming all week and we love that.”

“As a song, Sweet Melody has built and built over the last few months, so it’s great for it finally to be at number one.”
Jade added, “It’s also special because it’s our first number one as a trio. Starting off 2021 with a number one is amazing.”
They are also due to resume their Confetti Tour in April, with Perrie admitting, “We can’t wait to get back on stage and tour again. We want to be on stage, seeing the fans.”
Jesy Nelson left Little Mix, weeks after she took an “extended break” due to “private medical reasons.”
During one of her final performances with Little Mix in September, she suffered an anxiety attack. She burst into tears and had to be comforted by her bandmates during their Live Lounge show for BBC.
Before the panic attack, Jesy credited lockdown for giving her a much-needed break from the group. “It was quite nice to have our own space and time, because we never get time to just chill and just do nothing, so that was quite nice,” so she explained.

Perrie Edwards Under Fire After Leaking Chart Position of 'Sweet Melody'

    Instagram

Not long after the Little Mix member accidentally leaks the song’s rank on her since-deleted snap, Official Charts finally confirms the chart-topper on its Instagram account.

    Jan 9, 2021
AceShowbiz – Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is in hot water with U.K. pop chart compilers after announcing the band’s new song, “Sweet Melody”, was number one before the latest countdown was released on Friday, January 08.
The pop star took to Instagram to share video of her flower gift from boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain alongside the caption “No 1 babyyy”, while the song played in the background.
Perrie quickly removed the post, but not before fans around the world spotted it and commented, with one writing: “DID PERRIE JUST CONFIRM SWEET MELODY IS NUMBER ONE BEFORE THE CHARTS EVEN ANNOUNCED IT?” and another adding: “perrie managing to leak the chart position is such a perrie move.”
The hit is the band’s first number one since Jesy Nelson announced she was leaving the group for mental health reasons last month (Dec20).
Perrie, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall took to social media to share a brief clip of themselves welcoming in the New Year as a trio, adding the caption: “We can’t wait to see you all again very soon. Ps Sweet Melody is the perfect song for the top of your New Year playlists.”

Little Mix promoted ‘Sweet Melody’ while welcoming New Year.

The track – the group’s fifth U.K. number one – was first released three months ago but the group’s fans, known as Mixers, rushed to get the song to the number one spot to honour Nelson.
Officially confirming the chart-topper, Thirlwall told BBC Radio 1, “It’s the last single we did as a four with Jesy, and it’s even more special that now, going into 2021 as a three, we’ve got the first number one (sic).”
Perrie added: “I just want to squish every single fan who managed to get it to number one.”

Ed Sheeran’s “Afterglow” comes in at two on the new countdown, while Taylor Swift’s “Evermore” has beaten her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” to the top of the U.K. albums chart.

Jesy decides to leave Little Mix amid her extended break from the group, three months after she suffered a panic attack during one of her final performances with her bandmates.

    Dec 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson has quit Little Mix.
The singer took to Instagram on Monday (14Dec20) to share the news with fans, explaining she wants to focus on more positive things in her life.
The news comes a day after Little Mix performed as a trio during British TV show “Strictly Come Dancing” and weeks after a representative for the band confirmed Jesy would be taking an “extended break” due to “private medical reasons.”
In an interview with the Mail On Sunday’s YOU magazine in early November, she said she felt the need for a break from her bandmates, stating, “We’re never not with each other and we’re always busy. Our mornings start early, we finish really late.”

A statement from the band, confirming Nelson’s departure, reads, “After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.”
“We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being.”
The existing bandmates, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, have also confirmed they plan to continue as a trio, dismissing rumours a full split is just around the corner, adding, “We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.”
During one of her final performances with Little Mix in September this year, Jesy Nelson suffered an anxiety attack.

The British singer will not be joining her bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards until further notice amid unknown health battle.

    Nov 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – British singer Jesy Nelson will be taking an “extended” break from Little Mix to deal with undisclosed health issues.
The pop star had to pull out of appearing in the final episode of the girl group’s TV talent show, “Little Mix: The Search”, earlier this month (07Nov20) due to a mystery illness, while she was also absent from the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday, when her bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards served as the event’s hosts.
Now a spokesperson for the Shout out to “My Ex” hitmakers has revealed Nelson will be sitting out band activities until further notice.

“Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons,” the representative shared in a statement.
“We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time.”
Before Jesy Nelson’s health issues, the group’s talent show was forced to take a break last month after crew members tested positive for Covid-19. The girls along with the host Chris Ramsey subsequently tested for the virus and the results came back negative.
While he was “absolutely gutted” by the delay, Ramsey said back then, “Let’s be honest, I think if it was me they would just find another presenter and do the show anyway. See you all next week. Crossed fingers.”
