Jeremy Clarkson infuriates Millionaire viewers by 'ruining' lifeline

Jeremy Clarkson got on viewers’ nerves this evening as they picked up on one of his mannerisms on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Scottish contestant Callum sought the 60-year-old’s help with one of his questions, hoping to make it to £500,000.

Callum decided to avail of the “ask the host” lifeline, which has been a new addition to the revamped original series from the early noughties.

Unfortunately, Jeremy admitted he hadn’t a clue what the answer could be – leaving poor Callum none the wiser.

Taking to Twitter, viewers griped about the lifeline, moaning that Jezza never appeared to know the right answer.

Jeremy failed to correctly answer the “ask the host” lifeline

One said: “Ask the host is so pointless, Jeremy never knows the answer #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire.”

“WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire remember to ask Jeremy, but remember he won’t know,” added a second.

And a third scoffed: “Why is the ‘ask the host’ lifeline even a thing when Jeremy Clarkson’s response is always ‘I don’t know’ #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire”

While a fourth added: “I would never risk 250k on Jeremy clarkson lifeline #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire”

However, Jeremy had the opportunity to redeem himself later in the episode, when contestant Scott stepped up to the plate.

A question about home decor threw him off, and he opted to ask Jezza for his input, availing of the lifeline.

Jeremy replied: “Thank you for asking me earlier on with a simple question because it makes me look more intelligent than I am.”

The question read: “What part of a house is most likely to be described as ‘parquet’?”

Jezza replied: “I think you’re a lucky young man because I’m building a house at the moment.”

Revealing the correct answer as “flooring,” Jeremy proved viewers wrong and helped Scott up the money ladder in the hopes of winning a million.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
