Curry nut Tom Cruise gorged on two extra-spicy portions of chicken tikka masala in Birmingham over the weekend – and left a £60 tip.
The Rain Man star turned up at Asha’s on the city’s Newhall Street with two security staff and five guests for the booze-free feast, racking up a bill of £300.
Tom Cruise, 59, felt peckish on Saturday night as he devoured two chicken tikka masala meals costing £19.45 each.
The Hollywood actor has been shooting the upcoming Mission: Impossible 7 in Birmingham, and fancied trying their cuisine when he headed to Asha’s an Indian restaurant in the city.
The actor took to Newhall Street in the ‘city of a thousand trades’ where he spent two hours at the Indian restaurant Asha’s, before leaving staff a generous £60 tip.
Employees took to Asha’s Twitter page to share the exciting news of having fed the A-list celeb.
Asha’s general manager Nouman Farooquir has said: “Tom asked for his chicken tikka masala to be served with extra spices and he really liked it. Once he’d finished it he ordered a second portion.”
Another of Asha’s managers, Jebin Jacob, said: “At first no-one realised it was him as he had a mask on.
“Then when he took it off and started asking what was good, people started to realise it was him.”
One of Tom’s flunkies paid the bill on their card and left a 20% tip, showing the restaurant actor Tom’s generosity.
Asha’s owners tweeted a snap of Tom who was on a break from filming Mission: Impossible 7 at locations across the country.
His guests on Saturday night are thought to have included its director Chris McQuarrie, 53.
Curry lover Tom is famous for popping up at Indians, with his 2013 visit to Veer Dhara in St Albans turned into a short movie for the city’s film festival.
