BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker calls out Dragons' Den's Sara Davies for tattoo post

BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker called out Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies for her April Fool’s prank.

The Strictly star posted a photo of herself getting a tattoo on April 1 which some celebrity faces fell for.

However, the BBC news anchor wasn’t one of them and was quick to jump into the comment section.

The pair starred alongside each other in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing and became good pals during their stint on the show.

Sara joined the list of many other stars in pranking fans on the annual joker day and pulled off her own social media stunt.

Ant and Dec and GMB’s Laura Tobin also did their own jokes on the days, however, the Crafters Companion founder posted a photo of herself with a supposed new ink.

Sara could be seen sitting in the chair at Gentleman Jim’s tattoo parlour in Newton Aycliffe, getting an etching that read “Crafting Queen”.

She captioned the post: “Look what I’ve treat myself to! I’ve been fancying getting a tattoo for a while now but didn’t know what to get or who to go to for it, then I found out @gentlemanjimstattooclub is just down the road from our office and he’s such an amazing artist so he designed up this Crafting Queen piece personal to me and I absolutely love it! #tattoo #tattooideas #northeasttattoo #craftingqueen.”

Some of her celebrity circle were convinced it was legit or were in on the act, as a vast number replied to say how good it looked.

Strictly pro and Tilly Ramsay’s dance partner Nikita Kuzmin wrote: “Yess Sara! Come on!” Another Strictly dancer, Neil Jones added: “That’s brilliant.”

Whereas not fooled at all, BBC’s Dan commented: “What day is it again?”

This led to Sara trying to convince him otherwise, by saying: “It’s tattoo day Dan man!”

Not all Sara’s followers fell for it, with one posting: “Happy April Fool’s Sara,” while another reacted: “Thank the lord it’s April 1st.”

She then showed fans how her prank was done

Later in the day, she revealed it was in fact a prank with a video showing how she managed to trick her fans.

She shared a clip of her liaising with the tattoo artist and conjuring up a fake tattoo for her stunt.

Sara wrote alongside the video: “Can’t believe so many of you fell for my ‘tattoo’ … APRIL FOOL’S!

“I had SUCH a laugh planning this and I just want to say a huge thank you to the @crafterscompuk team including @cupofcaitlinn for filming and pics and @darrengbrown for designing my crafty tattoo.

“And last but not least Jamie at @gentlemanjimstattooclub for lending us his (real) tattoo studio and getting in on the prank! #tattoo #aprilfool #aprilfools #tattoocommunity #tattoogirl.”
