Elton John has recruited Dua Lipa and Neil Patrick Harris to help celebrate the 2021 Oscars with a livestreamed pre-party special.

Dua Lipa Has Been Looking at Scripts as She Plans to Branch Out Into Acting

    Instagram

The ‘Don’t Start Now’ hitmaker reveals that she has been reading some scripts as she is hoping to launch an acting career and follow in Lady GaGa’s footsteps.

    Mar 21, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Dua Lipa has been reading scripts for a potential move into acting.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dua revealed that she’s been looking at various possibilities, with the writer commenting that an acting gig “seems all but inevitable.”

While she didn’t go into any further details about the kinds of scripts she’s been reading, the “Don’t Start Now” hitmaker previously told The Scotsman in an interview last year (20) that she was keen to follow in Lady GaGa’s footsteps by taking on a TV show like “American Horror Story”.

“I would love to do that. I wouldn’t want do acting right now – I don’t think I’m quite there yet, I think I should focus on music – but if I was to try TV it would have to be something as crazy as a show like that,” she grinned.

Dua is currently at the top of her game in the music industry and recently celebrated her Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy award for her LP “Future Nostalgia” at a butterfly-themed party thrown by her boyfriend Anwar Hadid.

The celebration came after Dua branded her Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy Award win “insane.”

Reflecting on her award, she said, “Oh my goodness. Wow, thank you so much. This is insane. Future Nostalgia means the absolute world to me and it has changed my life in so many ways. But one thing that I have really come to realise is how much happiness is so important. I felt really dated at the end of my last album where I felt like I only had to make sad music to feel like it mattered. And I’m just so grateful and so honoured because happiness is something we all deserve and need in our lives. This means so much. Thanks to my family and friends watching at home, I love you, thank you.”

The Chic musician would love to hit the studio with the ‘Don’t Start Now’ hitmaker again although she previously turned down his contributions on ‘Future Nostalgia’.

    Dec 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nile Rodgers hasn’t ruled out a duet with Dua Lipa.
Despite the “Don’t Start Now” hitmaker turning down the music legend’s contributions on her latest album, “Future Nostalgia”, the “Le Freak” hitmaker says his door is always open for a collaboration with the pop megastar.
He told British newspaper The Sun, “That’s up to her. We got along great, we really liked each other.”
“She can call me any time – I’m down.”

Although the pair spent time in the studio together in 2019, Dua decided she wanted to make the arrangements for her LP more futuristic instead of retro disco.
She explained at the time, “I think I just needed a bit more of a future element in terms of production. The production we did together was amazing, but took it into beautiful disco and Chic. It needed to be more current.”
Dua recently broke online live-stream records with her Studio 2054 virtual concert, which pulled in over five million viewers, including over 1.9 million unique log-ins from China, 95,000 from India and over 263,200 tickets sold on regular ticketing platforms. The total is said to be a record for a paid live-stream, according to Variety.
The extravaganza featured guest appearances from Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue, FKA twigs, and more.
Dua Lipa also receives multiple nominations at the upcoming 2021 Grammy Awards. Her album is up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album while her single “Don’t Start Now” is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Feted with the Powerhouse Award at the Billboard virtual event, the ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ singer is hailed by the politician as someone who ‘has said loudly and clearly with her actions.’

    Dec 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Dua Lipa opened the 2020 virtual edition of the Billboard Women in Music gala with a stripped-down performance of “Boys Will Be Boys” before accepting a big honour from one of her heroes, U.S. politician Bernie Sanders.
Lipa accepted the Women in Music Powerhouse Award, which is given annually to an act whose music dominates streaming, sales and radio, and she used her speech to coo about Bernie after he virtually handed her the trophy on Thursday night (December 10).
“What this year has made clear, more than anything else, is that none of us can go back to business as usual,” Sanders said in his introduction. “The winner of tonight’s Powerhouse Award understands that… She has said loudly and clearly with her actions that now is the time to fight for a better future for all.”
“She is fighting for young people, women, refugees, the LGBT community and she is using her platform to bring people into the democratic process. She is raising her voice to demand real change.”

Sanders also revealed he and Lipa spoke over Zoom a few weeks ago.
The singer called Sanders a “personal hero” before accepting the accolade, and called out music industry executives for not putting more women in charge – pointing out that only 2.6 percent of all producers of Billboard Hot 100 songs are women.
“We’ve still got so far to go for real equality,” she said. “Let’s keep celebrating the women, and keep encouraging all the young girls out there to be the powerhouses of the future.”

Dua was recognised alongside Dolly Parton, Jennifer Lopez and Woman of the Year Cardi B at the Billboard prizegiving.

Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa Called Out for Allegedly Copying 'Prisoner' Music Video

The steamy ‘Prisoner’ music video is described by pop punk band Dream Wife as an attempt of Miley and her ‘Prisoner’ collaborator to ‘cosplay’ their group.

    Nov 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa have come under fire for allegedly ripping off a music video from pop punk band Dream Wife for their new “Prisoner” visual.
In the steamy promo, they dance around and frolic on a tour bus, touching and licking one another as they pour cherry juice all over their bodies. They end up rocking out onstage at a dive bar but, according to the London-based group, the music video is a direct rip-off of their own visuals for the track “So When You Gonna…”

One of the main conceits of both videos is a point of view shot from inside a person’s open mouth, framed by teeth while scenes of girl punk stars rocking out and being wild are also similar.

Dream Wife’s clip premiered back in May of this year (20) and the band, made up of members Alice Go, Rakel Mjoll, and Bella Podpadec, shared several side-by-side images from both videos on their social media. The top image showed Miley and Dua whilst the bottom image showed near identical compositions from their own video.

They captioned the post, “Thought the new Miley vid looked familiar… those pearly white LA teeth needs some grit tho. rofl (rolling on floor laughing).”
On their Instagram stories, the band posted further material, including a side-by-side image of Miley holding a guitar next to bandleader Alice doing same, with a caption over it saying, “Can not stop laughing over this cosplay!!!!!”
Miley and Dua have yet to respond to the allegations.

Miley is not holding back as she sends a savage message to her past lovers that include singer Cody Simpson, internet influencer Kaitlynn Carter, and actor Liam Hemsworth.

    Nov 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Miley Cyrus has used her new music video with Dua Lipa to send a harsh message to their exes.
The pop stars have joined forces for “Prisoner”, and in the accompanying steamy promo, they dance around and frolic on a tour bus, touching and licking one another as they pour cherry juice all over their bodies.
They end up rocking out onstage at a dive bar, and as the video for the heartbreak song ends, Miley shares a tribute of sorts to her former lovers with a message reading, “In loving memory of all my exes. Eat s**t.”
The graphic features the words “Eat s**t” in the middle of a barbed wire heart.

Miley was most recently in a months-long relationship with fellow singer Cody Simpson while she also enjoyed a lesbian fling with Kaitlynn Carter following the breakdown of her marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth last year (19).
Miley Cyrus is no longer following Cody Simpson who has reportedly moved on with Marloes Stevens after they were spotted kissing and holding hands.
Miley and Cody broke up in August after dating for ten months. Trying to control the narrative, she announced on Instagram Live, “So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up, it was confirmed by a ‘reliable source’ even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the two individuals that are participating in it.”
“For right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be,” she explained. “Like everybody else at this age, we’re just deciding who we wanna be with our lives, what we wanna do with our lives. And so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re out hanging out or getting pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re gonna continue to be friends.”
