BBC Morning Live host Sam Quek gives birth to second child and shares sweet first snap

Former I’m A Celebrity contestant Sam Quek has welcomed her second child with her husband Tom Mairs.

The 33-year-old BBC Morning Live presenter became pregnant just seven months after welcoming her daughter Molly.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Sam said: “There are 4 of us now…”

The proud mum shared a gorgeous black and white photo which showed the family-of-four’s hands held together.

Sam and Tom’s second baby comes less than two weeks after daughter Molly turned one.

Opening up about their pregnancy in October, Sam admitted it was “surprise” that they didn’t stop happening.

The former Olympian told OK!: “It was a surprise but we didn’t stop it happening, if that makes sense.

“We did discuss after Molly that we’d like kids close together and what close together meant. My close together was 18 months and I wanted to start trying after Christmas.

“But Tom’s close together was to start trying after my six-week check!”

Tom added that they had tried for 18 months to two years with Molly, and went through a heartbreaking miscarriage.

He dad went on to explain him and Sam didn’t give up on trying as Molly had taken so long but they hadn’t used the ovulation charts and be “regimented” with the process like last time until after Christmas.

However, he confessed he was “shocked” to find out how fertile they had become.

Sam said: “I know it will be tough logistically and when they’re both crying but I’m crossing my fingers that we have another Molly.

“She’s so chilled and she’s slept through from 7pm to 7am since she was two months old.

The next one could be the complete opposite. I’m a natural worrier, but we’re just going to do everything the same and hope for the best.”

Praising his wife, Tom said she was an amazing hockey player but she’s an even better mum.

Quek began hosting BBC’s Morning Live with co-star Gethin Jones in January of this year.

Impressively, Quek recorded an episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? just seven days after giving birth to her daughter Molly, and went on to win £16k for her charity on the show.

Quek’s property entrepreneur husband Tom starred on the reality show Secret Millionaire in 2010.
