Dancing on Ice's Ben Foden shares sweet tribute to partner as wife fumes over exit

Ben Foden was only able to put his skates on for one stint on Dancing on Ice before he was sent packing – and his wife was not impressed.

He had been training for weeks on end with his professional skating partner Robin Johnstone, but sadly he was unable to impress the judges and the public to the same extent as his fellow co-stars.

In a skate off against Ria Hebden, Ben was ultimately voted off the show, leaving both him, and his professional partner Robin, headed for the doors.

Ben shared a sweet post shortly after he was voted off as he posed for a selfie with his stunning dance partner.

He wrote on his Instagram stories: “This girl is a real one – I’m just sorry you all didn’t get to see how truly talented this woman is on the ice.

“Love you Robs, you made the whole experience magical.”

In an additional snap which saw him share a clip of his performance, Ben wrote: “Thank you everyone for your support. A brilliant experience – short but sweet!

“Can’t thank you Robin Johnston enough for being the best partner. I can’t tell you how much you mean to me! You’re a superstar.

“Sorry we didn’t get to do Harry Potter [laughing face emoji].”

Robin shared her own sweet message to Ben as she posted a photo of the duo alongside the caption: “I just want to say thank you to this big guy for making the last few months a complete pleasure and so much fun to go to work everyday.

She told her former partner that she was “so sorry” that she couldn’t help him go further but said she will “always love the wonderful times” they spent together.

Ben Foden became the first celebrity to be axed from the current series of Dancing on Ice.

His wife Jackie slammed the competition after his exit as she shared her fury and questioned “what the point” of the show was and hailed it a “popularity competition”.

Jackie fumed as her husband was voted off the show

She wrote: “Why divide the skaters into two weeks, groups of your choosing, and why not judge all their scores together after the two weeks?

“What’s the point of getting a bunch of people together and then not judging them together afterwards?

“And what’s the point of having a judging panel when it’s all down to a public vote?” She claimed that it was “unfair”, before adding: “The worst skater wasn’t the first to go, I don’t really see the point.”

However she did praise Ria Hebden who was able to stay in the competition and said she was glad that she could continue through to the following week.
