Things are heating up in Home and Away’s Summer Bay next week, as Anne Sherman takes Felicity Newman hostage – but it isn’t the end for the soap villain quite yet, one star has hinted.
Though Anne is set to finally get caught after her villainous plot is foiled next week, she could be back, Cash Newman actor Nicholas Cartwright has warned in an exclusive interview with Daily Star.
With Felicity in the firing line for the crime of stalking Tane Perata, her brother Cash is desperate to get to the bottom of everything – especially believing Felicity to be guilty after finding drugs in her van, the same kind used to sedate Tane.
However, it soon becomes clear that Anne is the real villain, with Cash and Ari racing to find Felicity before it’s too late and Anne prepares to release burnt pesticides on her petrified victims.
Tane wants to know what has made Anne so angry, but she’s livid to hear he doesn’t remember who she is when she’s watched him take numerous women home from the club.
Things soon take a dark turn, as Felicity stabs Anne in the leg with a pen after being forced to write a goodbye note to Cash – but Anne retaliates by tasering her unconscious.
Little does she know, however, that Ari and Cash have come to the rescue, as the duo break down the door and tackle her to the ground in the nick of time.
But can Felicity ever forgive her brother for not believing her innocence?
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, actor Nicholas Cartwright had some hints as to the future of the epic storyline – and it doesn’t sound like the end is set in stone for Anne.
He said: “If Anne – who is played by the absolutely wonderful Megan Smart – could come back, I would like to see her come back on a helicopter to absolutely take the Bay by storm.
“I would like to see the revenge of Anne, and I’d like them to make it absolutely epic because Megan Smart was an absolute boss when she came in to work with us, we all loved her!”
The star added: “I reckon if they’re going to bring her back they should go the whole hog.”
And how will Cash deal with the fall-out from the betrayal of his sister?
Nicholas explained: “I think old mate Cash is going to be very upset with himself for a while over this one, because he got it wrong at the end of the day.
“He decided to err on the side of balance and he got it wrong – he should’ve backed his sister. So I think that it really is going to weigh on him, particularly because he knows how much this is going to hurt Felicity.
“All Cash has been trying to do since he came into the Bay is not hurt her and keep her safe, and now he’s the one that’s really hurt her. So that’s an awful realisation to have, that all his efforts have just made it worse.”
Nicholas went on: “I think Cash knows it’s going to have to be fixed with time. Felicity is going to go through a bit of a grieving process, maybe get angry and reject him for a little bit, but he knows if he just sits around long enough she’ll come around.”
And for the actor, filming the action scenes in the shack was one of the highlights of his Home and Away journey so far, as he gushed: “It was my favourite day. Shooting action scenes is my favourite thing to do, I think it’s so much fun.
“It’s a big day, it’s hard and not as exciting as you think – it’s a very slow, methodical process that requires a lot of discipline and being able to stand around for a long time and then perform for ten seconds when you need to.
“It’s one of the days where the crew especially step up and really do an amazing thing together. We’re there acting, so it’s the same thing for us, but the spectacle they put on is phenomenal.
“The more action the writers can throw at me the better!”
