I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Mike Tindall has opened up about being away from his wife, Zara, and their children after jetting off to Australia last week.
He told the Daily Star that the family were no strangers to being apart.
Tindall shared: “Myself and Zara have been good through our past, she goes away for weeks at a time, and I used to go on tour and such so we’re used to having those periods where you’re away.”

Mike, 44, said that though they had been parted before, Zara “hadn’t really” been through the experience with their children.

He explained: “Mia was born in 2014 and then I retired so she hasn’t really gone through that experience with any of the kids.”
Despite this being the proper first separation in a while, he said that his family don’t seem to be missing him “that much”.
The father-of-three said: “They seem to be managing very well though on the phone calls that I’ve had so they’re not missing me that much.”

Mike will be the first Royal to step in the jungle.
He married Zara, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter in 2011 and the pair have three children – Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one.
Commenting on whether he had asked royal permission to go into the I’m A Celeb jungle by The Mirror, his reply was blunt.
He said: “That’s not something I need to tell you.”

I’m A Celebrity will return to our screens this month as it returns to Australia after two years in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The show’s long-time hosts Ant and Dec expressed excitement at returning to the jungle.
Following the announcement that the show will be going back to its home setting of Australia, Dec, 46, said: “We had two lovely years in Wales. We really enjoyed our time in Wales but the show has to be in Australia, we have to go back.”
The programme’s broadcaster ITV said in a statement: “Returning to its home in Australia after a two-year break, our celebrities will leave their plush pads and luxuries far behind as they spend up to three weeks taking on the Australian jungle with a whole host of surprises created for them.”
