Katie Price has thrown her support behind PTSD UK after the charity slammed I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s joke.
The Geordie duo, who also had a music career as PJ and Duncan, have joked that they have PTSD whenever their single Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble is played on the ITV show.
However PTSD UK – a charity which raises awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder, something Katie was diagnosed with in 2018 – has condemned the joke.

The charity’s founder Jacqui Suttie posted an open letter she addressed to ITV, in which she asked the network to do “better”, especially considering its own “Britain Get Talking” campaign.
It read: “Using PTSD as a punchline in a joke not only further stigmatises the reality of the condition, but it also incorrectly and unhelpfully desensitises people to the debilitating symptoms that can lead to family problems, unemployment, physical health issues, self-harm, homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction, and ultimately suicide.
“Jokes like this, using PTSD as part of the gag is only one in a long line of examples where people are using PTSD in a really disrespectful way – but feel that as the leaders of the mental health campaign ‘Britain Get Talking’, you should be setting an example and so feel that ITV has a duty of care to its viewers which includes comments like this which are not only unnecessary, but can also be incredibly damaging to those affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.”
Katie then shared the post on her own Instagram story and added some clapping emojis over the top of it.
The former glamour model, 44, was diagnosed with PTSD in 2018 after she had a breakdown.
She previously told The Sun: “I hit severe depression a couple of years ago, depression on top of PTSD, I was suicidal, didn’t want to be here. I tried to kill myself.”
Katie has starred on I’m A Celeb twice – first in 2004 and then again in 2009 – and is so far the only person to do so.
