Loose Women Kaye Adams admits Strictly regret as she hints she 'shouldn't have done it'

Loose Women star Kaye Adams made a shocking confession about her time on Strictly Come Dancing two months on from her brief stint on the show.

Kaye, 60, switched her seat on the Loose Women panel for the Strictly ballroom earlier this year partnering with Strictly Professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

Week one of the series saw her perform a high energy charleston and a tango but her moves failed to impress and she ended up in the dance-off.

Despite her army of adoring fans, Kaye’s appearance became a brief one when she swiftly became the first celebrity to be voted off the hit BBC dance competition.

Following her exit, her fellow Loose Women stars spoke out to admit feeling she had been “robbed” by getting such a short run on the series.

Janet Street-Porter said: “I think it’s really unfair. I sent her a text last night, I said ‘you showed so much guts doing it’. I really think it shows guts.”

Now Kaye – who has previously described her run on Strictly as a “mental, psychological battle” – has against spoken about the experience as she reflected on 2022 ahead of the New Year on Sunday.

Frankie Bridge broached the subject when she asked Kaye what advice she would give herself if she could go back to the start of 2022.

Kaye said: “I’d say ‘Kaye, you can’t dance, don’t do it’.”

Frankie Bridge alongside fellow panellists Denise Welch and Kelly Holmes then quickly denied her claim saying: “You can, you can dance”.

Kaye added: “I’m still coming to terms with it, because what I told myself when I made the decision to do it was ‘Kaye, you’ve got to get yourself out of your comfort zone’, because you hear that’s good for you, to get yourself out of your comfort zone.

“Now I think it’s called a comfort zone for a reason. Maybe it was too far out of my comfort zone. I hoped it would create a new me, and it didn’t”.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30 pm on ITV and ITV X.
