Love Island has introduced the world to huge stars including Dani Dyer, Millie Court and Megan Barton-Hanson, to name a few.
Some have gone on to fame and fortune after their stints on the popular ITV2 dating programme, landing massive collaboration deals with brands including Boux Avenue, as well as launching their own podcasts, or popping up on other reality TV programmes.
However, others have chosen to ditch reality TV completely.

Islanders including Molly-Mae Hague have spoken openly about distancing themselves from the programme, with others choosing to do the same in recent years.
Here, Daily Star takes a look at the Love Island stars who have ditched reality TV for new careers.
Amy Hart
Amy Hart rose to fame on Love Island 2019 but left the villa after Curtis Pritchard coupled up with Maura Higgins.
Although she went on to appear on reality TV programmes including Celebs Go Dating and Hey Tracey, the star announced earlier this year that she wanted to completely ditch reality TV and move into politics.
Speaking to The Sun, Amy revealed that she wanted to write a politics book for “the Love Island generation” and become an MP.
“I think I could be a relatable MP – something a lot of them are not,” said Amy.
“I think integrity and compassion is missing in politics and I can bring that.”
She added: “A lot of people think that politics doesn’t concern their lives so making it easier to digest is important.
“Many of my friends don’t vote as they think politics doesn’t concern them. I would love to educate people that it really does concern them.”
Idris Virgo
Boxer and Love Island star Idris Virgo entered the villa in 2018, but was one of the first islanders to pack his bags after just a few days.
The star returned to boxing, but he revealed on social media earlier this year that he has ditched reality TV to embark on an acting career.
He recently posted on his Instagram account that he had appeared in his first Bollywood film, saying: “On set doing my first Bollywood with the amazing actress @srabanti.smile.
“Can’t wait for the next one.”
Georgia Townend
Many of the Love Island stars have gone on to fame and fortune, while others have chosen to return to their day jobs after leaving the villa – including Georgia Townend.
Love Island 2021 star Georgia revealed in a social media video that she had returned to her job as a Marketing Executive in 2021, jokingly saying in a video if she would be let back into the building.
She filmed herself in her car after arriving at the office, saying: “Will my pass let me in? Or have I been sacked?
“Yaaay, it’s let me in. Made it to work, but can I make it through the day, that’s the real question.”
Molly Mae Hague
Molly Mae Hague appeared on Love Island 2019 with her boyfriend Tommy Fury but has since spoken openly about distancing herself from the reality TV series.
Since leaving the villa, Molly Mae Hague has chosen to move away from appearing on TV and has instead become the Creative Director of fashion chain Pretty Little Thing, who she had previously collaborated with.
Speaking to The Sun, she said she “never wanted to be known as a Love Islander”, adding: “I don’t believe, if I had stuck with ‘I’m just a Love Islander, I’m just a Love Islander’, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now as the creative director of PLT.”
Maura Higgins
Love Island 2019 bombshell Maura Higgins has become one of the show’s most successful stars, after landing a range of collaboration deals after leaving the villa.
She has also racked up a huge estimated net worth of £1 million from her lingerie deals alone with brands including Ann Summers.
However, in 2021, it was revealed that she had parted ways with her management team, in a bid to distance herself from the reality TV programme.
A source told Mail Online: “Maura has left the management company she signed with after coming out of the Love Island villa.
“They have supported her from the beginning but now she’s ready to start a new chapter in her career and wants to focus on modelling.
“She’s desperate to move away from reality TV – she wants a new challenge and has always thrived off her fashion and beauty campaigns.”
Alex George
Another Love Island 2018 alumni to ditch reality TV was Dr Alex George, who returned to his job as an accident and emergency doctor after leaving the villa.
Although Dr Alex does occasionally pop up on TV as a medical expert, it is reported that he is training to become a GP.
That’s not all, as he was also named by the Government in 2021 as their Youth Mental Health Ambassador.
Anna Vakili
One of the Love Island OGs Anna Vakili took a break from her job as a pharmacist, to appear in series five of the popular dating programme.
Although she boasts a huge 1.2m followers on social media following her stint after becoming a social media influencer, Anna uses her influence to promote awareness of the challenges that those on the front line face – particularly during the pandemic.
