Married At First Sight took the nation by storm when it first launched on Channel 4 in 2015.
Following the format of the Danish origin, the show offers brave singles the chance to be matched “scientifically” by a panel of experts who strongly believe that they will develop a successful relationship and a fruitful marriage.
The brave singles only meet their other half at the alter and make the decision on whether they want to commit to the experiment or turn their backs on it altogether.

But although many have taken the plunge to walk down the aisle, only one couple have remained married since the launch of the UK version.
Owen Jenkins and Michelle Walder both said yes in March 2020. Daily Star have taken a look at what life has been like for them since their series came to an end.
Challenges
Like any couple that married at first glance, Owen and Michelle did face their own set of challenges.
Despite their initial spark, they found living together to be rather difficult and the unexpected lockdown that took place throughout the world due to the coronavirus pandemic made things testing at the best of times.
However although their were evident obstacles that slowed the process down, Owen and Michelle didn’t turn their backs on the experiment and powered through.
Later on, Michelle who was originally from Sussex, relocated with Owen to Sheffield.
Speaking about how life has been, Michelle previously said: “We often say it’s a bit weird because other than getting married on TV as strangers, our life’s a very normal married couple one.”
Engagement
As one of the programme’s greatest successes so far, Michelle and Owen spoke openly on how good their relationship was going one year on.
Michelle also revealed that Owen surprised her with a diary that he continued writing after the television show came to an end and proposed again to mark the big day, telling Michelle he chose her.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Michelle said: “There’s always that niggling in your head of ‘oh, it wasn’t your choice’ as we were put together.
“Owen has just been so perfect the whole way through, I just can’t fault him. So I was like ‘Oh, do I deserve him? I don’t know. That self doubt creeps in, doesn’t it?
“I said it after a couple of glasses of Prosecco and he obviously just banked it in his head.”
She added: “He wrote this lovely diary entry in there, and got down on one knee and it was really lovely.
“That’s the only bit you miss out on in this is the act of proposing, I couldn’t have asked for more.”
Two year anniversary
This year, the loved-up pair celebrated their second anniversary together and took to social media to share their happy news with friends and family.
A post on the couple’s joint Instagram read: “Two years since I found out I was marrying this handsome man. When I sit back and think about it, the last two years really does blow my mind.
“I find it INSANE the fact that I didn’t know anything about him except that first name, and now we’ve been married almost two years and lived in our new home for one!
“Owen is so incredibly kind, silly, funny, thoughtful, loving, handsome (and annoying… cough cough cough leave those presents alone…) and I feel just so incredibly lucky every day.”
Meanwhile another post read: “Forever grateful to be part of this team.”
Belated honeymoon
Michelle and Owen have been keeping their fans updated on their social media platforms regarding their everyday lives and recently took a trip to Rhodes, Italy which they compared to a honeymoon.
Taking to Instagram, Michelle penned: “The last of the holiday spam for a while… featuring food, sunshine, smiles and more food.
“We didn’t get the traditional sunny abroad honeymoon at the time we got married but this definitely made up for it. Can’t wait for many more amazing memories like this with you Owen.”
