Pier Morgan has made a dig at Ant and Dec after they reignited their feud with the presenter following their BAFTA win.
Their show Saturday Night Takeaway won the award for Entertainment Programme at the ceremony on Sunday evening.
Piers has previously taken offence at the duo’s domination of the awards, and lost to Ant and Dec at the National Television Awards for Best Presenter last year, when the pair won it for the 20th consecutive year.
When Ant and Dec were quizzed about the possibility of being “hated” by the former Good Morning Britain presenter following their win, Ant said: “That’s great, I don’t mind that.”
Dec also added that they’re “doing something right” if their wins continue to upset Piers.
The 57-year-old took to Twitter to share with his followers that his stance on the pair remains the same. He wrote: “I couldn’t be less happy for you, lads @antanddec.” He also added a thumbs up emoji.
In their acceptance speech, the Saturday Night Takeaway presenters said their winning streak still means a lot to them.
Ant said: “This means a lot tonight, to still be nominated 17 years later and still be winning 17 years on means an awful lot.
“We’re thrilled to be able to do this job and still get away with it after all these years. It means more now than it ever did.”
Dec added: “We’re going to keep going as long as we can as long as the knees and back hold out. SNT is what we always wanted to make because we grew up on these kind of shows. It’s proper British Saturday night entertainment.”
It wasn’t the only dig Piers Morgan received at the BAFTAs. Actor Steve Coogan made a video appearance as Alan Partridge in a pre-recorded clip played during the show and made a swipe at Piers’ new show Piers Morgan: Uncensored, which launched on TalkTV on April 25 this year.
In the video he said: “Sadly, I can’t be with you because I’m on a nationwide tour, performing to an audience bigger than Piers Morgan gets on the actual telly. But the good thing with Piers is that it doesn’t bother him.”
