Rebekah Vardy claims Coleen Rooney row cost her ‘book deal’ and endorsements

Rebekah Vardy has claimed her Wagatha Christie court battle against Coleen Rooney has damaged her career.

Vardy, 40, has been suing fellow WAG Coleen for libel after the latter accused her of leaking her private information to the press in 2019.

Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen accused the model of leaking the personal information via a private Instagram account.

Vardy has denied the leaking accusations and is suing for libel, whilst Rooney is defending her claim on the basis her post was “substantially true”.

Ms Vardy has now claimed the Wagatha court drama has cost her a “potential book deal” which she had lined up but has now been “turned down”.

She also alleged she had a midwife company “lined up” to make placenta capsules for her after the birth of her daughter Olivia, her fifth child.

A witness statement, as reported by the Mirror, revealed: “I had a midwife company lined up to make placenta capsules and they pulled out weeks before the birth”.

The documents were released to the public on Friday (May 20) after both legal teams agreed.

Other pieces of evidence revealed included texts exchanged between MS Vardy and her husband, Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy.

The conversations included Vardy’s complaint that she had been made a “scapegoat” during the Euro 2016 and that news coverage of her made her “blood boil”.

Several posts from Coleen Rooney’s private Instagram account were also made public, which included her celebrating her husband Wayne’s birthday.

There was also a photo of the ex England striker and three of their sons in bed wearing pyjamas.

Vardy walked out of the Wagatha High Court case on Thursday – the penultimate day of the trial – after Rooney’s lawyer claimed she “destroyed evidence”.

Coleen’s legal representative David Sherborne accused her of “lying under oath” about missing WhatsApp messages.

Mr Sherborne said to the court that he was stunned this case had got this far in the process.

He argued that Rebekah had no more than a “slither of a case” as he said that her case “shrunk to almost nothing” after recent revelations.

The lawyer went on to claim in his closing argument that Rebekah had made “deliberate deletion and destruction” of evidence.

He also said that several key witnesses had not taken to the stand including Ms Caroline Watt and the journalists involved in publishing the leaked stories.

Vardy has suggested her ex-agent Caroline Watt could have been responsible for the alleged leaks

He once again urged Justice Steyn to consider the “deliberate cover up” designed to hide Vardy’s actions and alleged the evidence showed “Mrs Vardy deleted the WhatsApp chats and has lied on oath”.

Mr Sherborne claimed to the court: “There is only one reason for her having taken such a step. It was done to cover up incriminating evidence.”

“Mrs Vardy deliberately deleted those messages to cover up the collusion between her and Ms Watt.”

He went on to say that Vardy’s actions were “fishy” as the former Dancing On Ice star got up and exited the Court.

Vardy has denied the claims made against her.
