Strictly pro Dianne Buswell mortified as she apologises for rude 'on-air' slip-up

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell was left apologising during Saturday night’s live episode (November 5), after the pro dancer made a rude on-air slip up.

She and celebrity partner Tyler West danced the Viennese Waltz to I’ve Been Loving You Too Long by Seal during the live show, and were awarded with a total of 29 out of 40 points by the judges.

Despite the decent score and liking the expression in their dance, head judge Shirley Ballas commented on their “incorrect footwork”, while fellow judge Anton Du Beke said that Tyler was “falling over his feet a bit”.

However, Dianne made a rude-slip up when she spoke to Claudia Winkleman about her and Tyler’s rehearsals for the performance, saying that there is “a significant height difference” between the pair, adding: “It can be a little struggle sometimes. I’m always going between his legs.”

Realising what she had said, Dianne looked mortified as she apologised for the rude on-air blunder, quickly saying: “I shouldn’t have said that, sorry!”

Host Claudia Winkleman subsequently moved the conversation on swiftly, saying: “That’s something else.”

Aside from the on-air slip up, fans also took to social media following the judge’s critiques to point out that Shirley Ballas had got Dianne’s name wrong for the second time this series.

Speaking to the pair following their performance, Shirley could be heard saying: “I think that you give Diana room in order to show her fluidity and flexibility.”

However, fans were quick to point out the mistake, with one saying: “When will Shirley Ballas learn that her name is Dianne not Diana? How many series has she done?”

“Why doesn’t anybody tell Shirley to call Dianne her actual name? It’s honestly so rude, winds me up so much! #Strictly,” asked a second.

A third commented: “Did Shirley just refer to Dianne as Diana?” with a fourth adding: “Not Shirley calling Dianne Dianna again. Rude.”
