Hit US series Drake and Josh was watched by millions after its first episode in 2004, with fans tuning in to see inside the lives of the lovable step-brothers and their vindictive sister.
Drake and Josh first met when Drake’s mum, Audrey Parker began dating Josh’s dad, Walter Nichols, with the two teens being forced to share a room in their swanky home.
While having a brother may be the dream for some, Drake and Josh often clashed with one another as well, with Drake’s younger sister, Megan also getting involved.
It ran on Nickelodeon between 2000 to 2007, with some of the the cast becoming household names, while others didn’t fare as well and even had brushes with the law.
Today marks 18 years of Drake and Josh, so to celebrate, Daily Star has looked into the lives of the cast.
Drake Bell
Famed for playing Drake Parker, the California-born actor, 35, was known as the music-loving teen, often seen strumming his red electric guitar.
Since turning his back on his former character, Drake has maintained a career in the spotlight, taking on roles in the likes of Highly Gifted and voicing characters in Marvel’s The Ultimate Spider-man and the three Fairly Odd Parents films.
Away from acting, he has attempted to carve out a music career, however, only one release charted in the Top 100, selling 178,000 copies in the United States back in 2006.
His follow up album, Ready Steady Go!, released in 2014, only managed to sell 2,000 copies across the States.
Drake has had several brushes with the law over the past six years, first being arrested in 2015 for driving under the influence and speeding – later being found guilty and subsequently sentenced to four days in prison.
In June 2021, Drake was arrested on charges relating to “attempted endangering [of] children and desseminating matter harmful to juveniles”.
It was alleged that a 15-year-old victim had attended one of Drake’s concerts in 2017 and, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, he “violated his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim”.
The Cleveland Police alleged that Drake, who had been 31 at the time, had sent the teen “inappropriate social media messages” for “months leading up to the concert”.
He pleaded not guilty and was freed on a $2,500 bond and ordered to provide a DNA sample. He also agreed to have no contact with the alleged victim.
At a hearing on June 23, he pleaded guilty to both charges.
In July, the victim, now 19, read a public statement accusing him of sexually assaulting her while she was underage, something which only came up at the sentencing hearing, as well as the other charges – but he was never charged with sexual abuse.
Drake was sentenced to two years of probation with 200 hours of community service, and he is not allowed to have any contact with the victim.
Josh Peck
Known for his iconic quote “Megan” while offering a terrified gaze following the antics of his step-sister, Josh Peck’s character Josh Nichols was loved by all.
Since the show came to an end, Josh, 34, has undergone a dramatic transformation – shedding loads of weight, leaving fans completely speechless.
The actor has continued to grace both the small screen and big screen, as well as becoming an internet sensation before the video-sharing platform, Vine, was abruptly shut down.
Josh has appeared in the likes of The Wackness and Drillbit Taylor, both released in 2008 before going on to star as Eddie the possum in all five Hollywood favourite Ice Age films.
He has since gone on to land roles in The Mindy Project airing on Fox in the United States, while also returning to his Nickelodeon routes, voicing a character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Miranda Cosgrove
Known for her mischievous ways, Miranda’s character Megan was often at the centre of drama – wreaking havoc across the family home while driving Drake and Josh insane.
The youngster who occasionally showed her angelic side was always on her best behaviour when her mum and step-dad were around but instantly switched when their backs were turned.
Her character saw it as her “job” to wind Drake and Josh up regardless of what mood they were in at the time.
Since leaving Drake and Josh, Miranda went on to land her own Nickelodeon series, iCarly, featuring special guests including One Direction on occasions.
Keeping to her acting routes, she appeared in Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2 and Despicable Me 3 as Margo.
However, Miranda quietly attended the University of Southern California, initially studying film before gaining a degree in Psychology.
Jonathan Goldstein
Jonathan boasted a successful acting career prior to his stint on Drake and Josh, having appeared in the likes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Blue’s Clues.
He went on to take the role of Walter Nichols, the dad of Josh in 2004 when the series first took to the airwaves.
Following the cancellation of the popular sitcom, Jonathan went on to score minor roles in the likes of The Riches airing on Fox as well as ABC’s fan favourite, Grey’s Anatomy.
Most recently, the 54-year-old appeared in Nickelodeon’s Danger Force as Santa Claus.
Nancy Sullivan
Nancy, 52, had been a regular on screens before taking on the role of Audrey Parker-Nichols, playing Drake and Megan’s mum.
The fan favourite had appeared on the likes of Beverly Hills, 90210 prior to her Nickelodeon stint.
Since the show came to an end, Nandy began working on Cartoon Network’s Squirrel Boy, voicing Lucille Johnson.
However, Nancy has not acted since 2017, with her IMDB CV stating that her lat work was in Barbie Dreamtopia, playing Watermelon Woman for two episodes.
