A Place in the Sun host savages picky couple who were 'let down' by empty flat

A Place in the Sun guests have left viewers fuming when they complained over a stunning holiday home with a sea view.

Scottish couple Gordon and Staci have a budget of £170,000 to buy a holiday home on the western coast of Tenerife.

They were looking for a two-bedroom flat with outside space and quiet neighbourhood.

Channel 4 host Lee Juggurnauth took the pair to a resort in Golf del Sur for a two-bedroom duplex, offering a spacious rooftop with sea view and bright living room.

But when Gordon stepped inside the flat, he crossed his arms and frowned: “I am bit disappointed actually , maybe it’s just because there’s no furnishing. It feels a bit less homely.”

Given its “like new” condition, Lee suggested them to see past the empty space and added: “You are musicians, very creative people, you can work your magic here!”

Wife Staci chimed in and said: “Don’t get my wrong, I mean, as you say it’s a blank canvas, where you can make it your own.”

Gordon looked around and noticed some loose sockets on the wall, believing that they would need “more work than they want” for the duplex.

When Lee took them to the rooftop to show the open space and sea view, Gordon was not convinced and refused to see the rest.

He explained: “It’s a shame because the pool area, the rest of the grounds are fabulous.

But Gordon and Staci said there’s ‘too much work to be done’ for the flat

“So it’s just, actually, the property itself, is just a bit of a letdown.”

And wife Staci said they would prefer “somewhere they can just move right into”.

Fans were baffled and struggled to justify the couple’s reasons for ruling out the duplex.

“What works does it need? Just some painting,” one remarked and a second commented: “‘It’s more work than we want to do’… what work? Move furnitures in?”

A third added: “‘It’s not very homely’ – It’s got no bloody furniture mate!”
