Mack and Chloe were utterly relieved when the consultant tells them Reuben is showing no signs of brain damage and he jumped at the chance when Chloe asked him to come and see his son.
Meanwhile, Charity and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) arrived at the hospital and plan a surprise visit when they hear that Rueben is on the mend.
But Charity was left shocked when she spotted an unaware but emotional Mack with Reuben and she’s soon hit with the realisation that Mack is Reuben’s dad.
ITV bosses used a dream-like slow-mo editing to show Charity’s reaction leaving viewers at home distracted from the drama.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Charity knows the dirty little secret about Mack #Emmerdale about time.”
Another added: “Thank God she finally knows!!”
A third person posted: “Finally its dawned on Charity #Emmerdale”
While. a fourth social media user said: “Slow mo Charity”
Charity couldn’t wait to leave the hospital and told Amy that she’d picked up a bug all of a sudden.
After hearing Mack talking to Reuben about his “daddy”, she returned to the village in disarray.
Mack later turned up with flowers and a bottle of wine to apologise for not coming home.
However, Charity instead asked him why he was visiting Reuben in hospital and why was he referring to himself as the tot’s “daddy’.
Mack later admitted that he is in fact Reuben’s dad leaving Charity heartbroken.
However, instead of the usual Dingle ding-dong, Charity instead walked inside her house leaving Mack on the street.
Some viewers are convinced that Charity will get revenge in her own time.
One fan said: “Charity will get revenge Dingle style.”
Another added: “Charity plotting her revenge.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
