Good Morning Britain fans were stunned after discovering Cher’s real age.
The singer appeared on Monday’s instalment (September 4) of the ITV programme and discussed her activism with presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.
The Believe hitmaker opened up about successfully rescuing an elephant named Kaavan, once dubbed “the world’s loneliest elephant,” from a zoo in Pakistan.

Cher, who is co-founder of Free the Wild, also shared her wishes to save another elephant named Billy, who has spent nearly his entire life in an LA zoo.
Later in the interview, Susanna, 52, couldn’t hide her astonishment at Cher’s real age, with the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star admitting she “can’t believe” she will be hitting 80 in just a few years time.
When asked what her secret to her youthful appearance is, the 77-year-old explained: “The genes in my family are pretty amazing.
“I don’t know. I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger, I’m not sure. And I keep up with the trends. I have lots of young friends. I have old friends too.”
The Burlesque star went on to say: “Honestly, I’m not trying to feel young, I’m not trying to be young, I am who I am. So whatever that means, I’m just getting along.”
After learning Cher’s real age, fans swarmed social media to compliment her ageless beauty.
“OMG how old is Cher ? She looks fabulous and about 40. AND she saved an elephant #GMB,” gushed one viewer.
