Amanda Holden has dropped a bombshell about the quirky musical twist she’s planned for her final send-off.
The telly favourite and Britain’s Got Talent judge, who is 53 years young, spilled the beans while chatting with Jason King known to fans as JK who’s filling in for Jamie Theakston on Heart Breakfast this Wednesday, September 4th.
During their natter, Amanda and JK got all giddy confessing they get “starstruck” at times. They were buzzing to share that they’d been graced by pop royalty when a certain legendary singer swung by the studio for some chinwag and a “cuddle”.
She gushed: “Well, I am one of the biggest fan… I mean all of us are a fan. There is no doubt. I don’t know anyone that does not like Abba, and Bjorn (Ulvaeus) was here. I mean, I could barely speak; he just casually walked in.”
The star-studded encounter saw Amanda reveal that Bjorn “dropped in” for a chat, a snap, and a “cuddle”, while they cheekily nudged him to “put the band back together” and “go on the road”, calling the crooner a “charming, gorgeous man”, reports the Mirror.
JK chimed in, cringing over a part of the video that might surface later, pleading: “The bit of the video that you may see later, please don’t put the cheesy line where I say, ‘Can we thank you for the music? ‘, because – and I genuinely meant that.”
To which Amanda quipped back: “Just put the bit in where I said I’ve got Dancing Queen in my will where I’m lowered into the ground because that’s the truth. That is in my will.”
Fast forward to 2023, and the adored host hasn’t shied away from flaunting her ABBA obsession, posting pics outside an arena, living it up at an ABBA concert.
In 2021, ABBA dropped their ninth studio album, ABBA Voyage, a whopping 40 years after their previous record. The new album sold over a million copies in its first week alone.
The iconic quartet – Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid – also performed as holograms, belting out their legendary hits for their adoring fans, including Amanda.
On Instagram, she gushed about the performance, captioning a photo: “Well. You don’t need me to say this is BLOODY BRILLIANT BUT IT IS BLOODY BRILLIANT @abbavoyage I wept with joy.”
In other ABBA-related news, reports suggest that Mamma Mia! 3, the follow-up to Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, could be on the cards.
These hugely successful musical films feature ABBA’s hit songs and boast a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, and Lily James.
