I will be reading this.” Ex-EastEnders star Ricky Norwood, who played Fatboy, said: “If your going to read anyone’s story.. this man’s journey is one filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, Surprises and life lessons..! I’m so honoured to call this man a mentor and friend x.”
Rudolph no doubt has some incredible stories to tell, thanks to his incredible career in the acting industry. In addition to his EastEnders role, he’s also starred in the likes of Love Thy Neighbour and The Thin Blue Line. He’s featured in films such as 10 Rillington Place and also narrated the Teletubbies in the 90s.
Away from acting, Rudolph launched The Rudolph Walker Foundation in 2010 to celebrate his 70th birthday. The organisation helps disadvantaged youths start their careers in the entertainment industry. His contributions to drama and charity saw Rudolph appointed an OBE in 2006, followed by a CBE in 2020.
However, it’s definitely his EastEnders role most will recognise Rudolph from. He has portrayed Patrick for over 23 years, having made his soap debut back in 2001. The character has been at the centre of some big storylines over the years, from health scares, assault and the devastating death of his son. Most recently, Patrick was reunited with beloved wife Yolande (Angela White), leaving EastEnders fans delighted. The couple’s reunion hasn’t been without its ups and downs however, with Yolande’s sexual assault by Pastor Clayton rocking their romance.
