Multiple women have come forward following claims of inappropriate behaviour by Jermaine Jenas, according to reports.
The former footballer and presenter, 41, is best known for hosting shows like Match of the Day and The One Show. On Thursday (August 22), the broadcaster was axed by the BBC after they received allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
In a statement to Mirror Online, a BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up.” The TV pundit has spoken out after the news hit the headlines and insisted that there are “two sides to every story” and is in discussions with his legal team.

His contract was terminated by the flagship channel this week after the BBC allegedly received a complaint about text messages sent by the TV star last month. It is understood the company has now launched an internal investigation to look into the claims.
It has been claimed that after one woman complained about the unsolicited messages, other female employees have also come forward, according to The Sun. The publications source said: “The first complaint was raised after Jermaine flirtily messaged a female member of staff on The One Show, and she raised her misgivings in a formal capacity.
“The BBC knows it cannot now ignore concerns or complaints so after immediate routine enquiries the decision was taken to take him off air, and terminate his contract. They acted swiftly and decisively.”
They added: “Jermaine’s conduct is absolutely nothing” like former BBC News presenter Huw Edwards and that there is “no suggestion of illegality.” Staff at the BBC have allegedly shared how shocked they have been following the latest development.
Director of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski has been involved in the entire process and emailed staff at 3.39pm on Thursday. He simply announced: “I wanted to let you know that Jermaine Jenas is no longer working for the BBC.”
A source to the Sun said: “It was brutally short and to the point. It felt like there was no messing around. The staff WhatsApps were suddenly abuzz with what was going on.”
They added: “There have been whispers that something was afoot but bosses had kept the investigation close to their chest.” Staff on The One Show had been in the dark up until Thursday morning when rumours started up that he had been given the boot.
The same source continued: “It’s a very sensitive landscape at the BBC at the moment with the various scandals that have beset it of late. Any hint of workplace misconduct and they need to come down on it like a ton of bricks.”
Jenas joined the BBC show back in 2020 and quickly became a permanent host just one year later. Before his sacking, the sportsman had a long-running career at the BBC working on Match of the Day, with whispers that he would be Gary Lineker’s successor.
According to reports, Jermaine recently landed a new job working for talkSPORT and would be teaming up with ex-Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant for the afternoon programme Drive. The star was presenting talkSPORT’s Drivetime show when news of his sacking hit the headlines.
He continued to stay on air for the remainder of the show and did not address his BBC departure. After the news hit the headlines, Jenas has been reported to have been dropped from a scheduled appearance on talkSPORT.
Jenas was last seen on The One Show on July 22, 2024, and his final appearance on Match of the Day was just weeks earlier. In a statement shared by a spokesperson to The Sun, Jenas said: “Right now I can’t talk about it.
“I can tell you I’m not happy – there are two sides to every story – and I’m going to be speaking with my lawyers on the issue.”
Daily Star has reached out to the BBC and Jermaine’s representatives for a comment.
