Rumours of a relationship between Strictly Come Dancing partners Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal have been rife since they kissed on screen in week two.
Now, an insider said the pair are getting closer each practice, with their affection becoming an ‘open secret’ with the rest of the cast. They were first paired in August and are reaching new heights.
Their chemistry grew in Saturday night’s episode (October 5) after they performed a samba to George of the Jungle during movie week. Pete started the dance by gyrating his hips to the judges and showing plenty of chemistry with professional Jowita.

While they have not officially announced a romance, an insider told the Mail that feelings are growing. “Pete has fallen head over heels for Jowita. He thinks she is amazing in every way,” they claimed.

“The feeling is mutual from her side and things have definitely progressed between them. They are all over one another behind the scenes, in a way that a loved-up couple would be.”
A Strictly romance is almost a given on the show, with several previous couples meeting through their dancing journeys. Joe Sugg and Diane Buswell have been together since he got paired up with her in 2018. Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez are another and even the professionals meet on the show – Aljaž Škorjanec is married and shares a child with Janette Manrara.
While chemistry is often present, it’s rare for a relationship to form this early on in the series. The couple are due to enter their fourth week of a potential 13, if Pete makes it out of tonight’s (Sunday October 6) dance off unscathed.

“It appears that we may have the first Strictly romance of the series, which is so exciting. They are the talk of the show,” continued the source. They added: “The other contestants are really happy for them. They are always smiling. It’s lovely. It will certainly brighten up the show following the dreadful saga around Giovanni (Pernice) and Amanda Abbington.”
Jowita was previously linked to Pernice last year following her victory with Hamza Yassin in 2022. Previously, she was in a long-term relationship with dancer Michael Danilczuk.
Despite their short partnership, Pete and Jowita were thought to hit it off immediately with their personalities bouncing off each other. They were seen together at the National Television Awards in September, where reports say they were getting close.
