Mark Labbett’s heartbroken ex has opened up on their split for the first time.
Hayely Palmer, 42, has claimed that The Chase regular ended their year-long romance because he didn’t want to divorce his ex Katie, who is also his second cousin.
The pair met at the National Television Awards in September 2022 and they became friends before romance blossomed May last year. However, just weeks after celebrating their first anniversary with a trip to Southsea, Hants, heartbroken Hayley has confirmed they are no longer together.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Hayley said: “He has really lived up to his name. The Beast has been a beast. It has come as a complete shock. I thought we were really happy. I’m heartbroken and blindsided. His behaviour has been beastly.
In a devastating phone call on May 24, just days after she had asked him what was happening with his divorce, Hayley claims Mark told her: “I don’t think we should see each other any more. You were right, I don’t want to get a divorce.”
Hayley explained: “I thought he was a gentle giant, so this was the complete opposite. He was as cold as ice. The phone went from my hands, I just hung up on him. I ended up walking around for three hours not knowing where I was going.”
“I’ll never get over the shock of that, I’m still in shock now. It’s such a hurtful way to do it.” Mark and Hayley appeared on ITV’s Loose Women days before they split and spoke about their relationship and their future together.
Hayley said that before their shock split, 58-year-old quizzee Mark, who has a seven-year-old son with Katie, had even suggested they move in together as he lives in Rotherham while she is based in Chelsea.
The media personality insists she has no idea if Mark has rekindled a relationship with his ex. She told the publication: “I don’t know . . . you’d have to ask him about that. All I know is that I gave him my full trust so, for me, I just believed he was spending time with his family — which is what I expected. But my trust has been completely broken and, for me, there would be no going back.”
Daily Star has reached out to Mark’s representative for a comment.
