Jeremy Clarkson ‘not himself’ as he issues health update after brutal surgery

Clarkson’s Farm and Top Gear legend Jeremy Clarkson admitted he has become “a bit duller” and is “not quite as sharp” as he used to be following heart surgery and dramatic weight loss

Jeremy Clarkson has been battling with his health following heart surgery.

Six months after starting Mounjaro to help with his weight loss journey, Clarkson has shed three stone and has been forced to overhaul his entire wardrobe. This decision came after a commitment he made to improve his health at 64, prompted by a serious heart-related health scare in 2024.

The Clarkson’s Farm legend underwent an emergency operation to clear blocked arteries, which made him realise the importance of a healthy diet. He shared: “I’ve plateaued now. I’m still on it, but not losing any more weight – but nor am I putting any on, because it keeps my appetite level down. It really is an astonishing drug.”

Speaking to The Sun, he said: “I can go much further, I can take the dogs out for longer now, so it keeps [Lisa] happy. I’m much healthier,” reports the Express.

When discussing potential side effects, the Top Gear presenter said he hasn’t experienced the most common ones, such as constipation and reduced libido. However, his long-term girlfriend Lisa Hogan has noticed a decrease in his mood.

Clarkson admitted that he’s become “a bit duller” and “not quite as sharp,” though he remains pleased with his recovery progress.

The farmer also teased that his health ordeal will feature in the upcoming series of Clarkson’s Farm: “It’s been shocking these last 12 months, on every front. Anyone who thinks season five of Clarkson’s Farm is a barrel of laughs is in for serious disappointment.”

Clarkson was concerned he’d experienced a heart attack and went in for an ECG, blood tests and X-rays. Speaking to The Sunday Times, he revealed: “It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way.”

Medical professionals inserted a stent to maintain his artery’s openness. Clarkson faced another health crisis back in 2017 as he battled pneumonia, prompting him to quit smoking after a 43-year habit of 40 cigarettes daily.
