Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui has spoken about why he has been missing from the show as fans noticed he was not with his sons for a second week in a row.
He had previously taken to social media to reveal that he wasn’t on the show because he wasn’t feeling very well, and posted again during last Friday’s show as his two sons Baasit and Umar chatted about the TV shows.
Derby local Sid told his fans that he is feeling better, but the family won’t be seen together on the show because of social distancing, which means the cast have to be 2m apart if they don’t live together.
As Umar, Baasit and Sid don’t live together, this means one of them won’t be be able to join their family on the show while lockdown goes on.
He posted: “I am sorry I will be missing from the Siddiqui sofa again in tonight’s Gogglebox because of 2 meter social distancing rule but I am sure you will be entertained just as much by the rest of the gang enjoy the show take care be safe lots of love.”
Fans commented on his post, with one writing: “Definitely noticed & missed you last week… you’re one of my favourite family’s on Gogglebox… stay safe. Look forward to you returning once it’s safe! Take care.”

Another added: “Take care Sid. We miss you but want you to be safe. See you soon wonderful man.”
Sid isn’t the only person who has had to take a step back from the show because of the coronavirus lockdown.
Izzi Warner, who normally appears on the show with her sister Ellie, was missing from the latest episode because of social distancing.
She was replaced by Ellie’s long-term boyfriend Nat, shocking fans as they realised the fan favourite was missing.

Their rushed to social media during Friday’s episode to comment on the shake-up, as one posted: “Where’s Izzi??”
Another added: “Izzi’s looking a little different tonight, she’s had a haircut, got a tattoo and grown a beard!”
A third chipped in: “Poor Izzi can’t be there.”

A fourth wrote: “Ooh there’s a man in Izzi’s chair.”
However, most of the cast managed to stay on the show as many live in the same house, and therefore social distancing rules don’t apply to them.
Gogglebox continues on Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
