Nicholas Lyndhurst’s wife pays tribute to 'darling son' on Mother’s Day

Nicholas Lyndhurst’s wife Lucy paid tribute to their late son on the first Mother’s Day since his tragic passing.

The grieving mother shared a message for the young actor thanking him for “making her a mummy”.

She shared a series of ten photos of Archie on Instagram as a child, including several of him cuddling up to his mum.

Another picture showed the little boy’s delight playing with bubbles in the garden and one of him in his school uniform.

Lucy captioned the photos: “My dearest darling boy. To get through today without you is the hardest thing ever. I miss you every minute of every day. I will never stop loving you. Not ever.

“Thank you for making me a mummy. It was the best adventure I’ve ever had. You never stopped me from smiling ever.

“Thank you for all those beautiful happy times. I shall be forever in your debt. You teach me everyday to be a better person. Love you today, tomorrow and always. All my love your devoted Mama xxx”.

Lucy announced his passing in November last year writing: “It is with the heaviest heart that I write this post. Nine weeks ago our dearest boy Archie was taken from us way too early.”

“The pain of our loss is beyond anything we have ever felt before, and wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Archie was, and remains our absolute world.

“He was the most beautiful extraordinary human being we have ever known. To have him as our son has been nothing but an utter joy and honour.”

Archie died from an intracerebral haemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukaemia, an incredibly rare disease that kills 800 people a year.

In January his mum revealed the cause of Archie’s death stating: “This is not Leukaemia as we know it, the word Acute in medical terms means rapid. He assured us that there wasn’t anything anyone could have done as Archie showed no signs of illness.

“Archie had numerous bleeds on the brain and the Dr went to great lengths to reassure us that he wouldn’t have been in any pain as it happened in his sleep.”
