BBC's Strictly It Takes Two fans call to bin 'boring' Strictly pro challenge

It Takes Two fans are calling on show bosses to bin the “boring” pro challenge.

The annual competition, which features on the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show sees the professional dancers put various different dance techniques to the test against one another in a yearly competition, this time competing for a Guinness world record.

This week saw Spanish pro Gorka Marquez take his turn on the stage, attempting to perform as many back Charleston kick steps as possible in 30 seconds.

But as the star made his way to the stage to perform, fans began calling on the show to scrap the segment, dubbing it “boring.”

Think they need to bin the “pro challenge” it was fun at first, this one is tedious – as is the faux build up to giving the results. I know they need filler as the number of couples reduce, but have fewer shows #Strictly #ItTakesTwo,” said one viewer.

“Nobody understands the #Strictly #ItTakesTwo #prochallenge which is odd to say the least,” added a second, while a third agreed: “This pro challenge is rubbish and boring. Scrap it! #ItTakesTwo.”

Karen Hauer was the first to find out how she did on Wednesday’s edition of the show.

In 30 seconds Karen, who was partnered with comedian Jayde Adams for the 20th series of Strictly, completed 23 steps, overseen by judge Craig Revel Horwood.

But she was in for an unwelcome surprise as she was told she had all of them disqualified. “I can’t believe that. What happened?” cried host Janette Manrara.

Neil Jones suffered a shocker on the show’s spin-off It Takes Two and joked he was going to contact Ofcom over his injustice.

Rylan introduced his attempt on Friday and after seeing the VT, Neil joked that he had to lay down for “three weeks” after taking on the challenge.

The host confirmed that Neil performed 26 steps and while Neil appeared quite chuffed, Rylan informed he had suffered 26 disqualifications.

“Which means Neil, you scored zero and are joint bottom of the leaderboard,” Rylan confirmed to which a gutted Neil replied: “Who is judging this competition!?”

Rylan said: “What can I say to that… Neil, what do you make of that?” to which he said: “I definitely had 19… “I want a recount,” he added as Rylan told him: “Emails to the BBC please.” As Neil replied that he ‘will do’, he then joked: “Ofcom… I’m writing in!”
