Playboy Bunny heartbreaking confessions – cruel abuse, bitter feuds to sex rituals

Hugh Hefner was known as one of the world’s most infamous womanisers, boasting a string of stunning girlfriends and sexy Playboy Bunnies throughout his life.

And while the star had a wave of glamorous models at his beck and call throughout their stay, the businessman continued to grow his millions with his hugely successful magazine company.

It appeared as though the residents were living the high life, making use of Hefner’s millions and regularly enjoying wild nights out while living at the famous Playboy mansion.

But the life of the up-and-coming models couldn’t be further than the truth, after several of his former girlfriends have come forward with a slew of serious allegations against him.

As fans all over the world mark what would have been Hugh’s 97th birthday, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside some of former Playboy Bunnies’ most heartbreaking confessions.

Sex rituals

It was well known that the women living in the Playboy Mansion were expected to be intimate with Hefner behind closed doors.

But what stars were surprised to learn was his bizarre nighttime routine, with several models speaking out about his unusual habits since his passing.

In her book Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, Holly Madison said girls would change into identical flannel pyjamas before meeting the businessman.

She claimed the infamous playboy, who died in 2017, would watch porn, smoke weed and masturbate while the girlfriends would kiss each other around him.

The blonde bombshell later alleged that they would take turns pleasuring Hefner but he insisted that he always finished by himself.

Holly wrote: “There was zero intimacy involved. No kissing, nothing. It was so brief that I can’t even recall what if felt like beyond having a heavy body on top of mine.”

Fellow bunny Kendra Wilkinson confessed she found the sex with Hefner to be so unbearable that she couldn’t stay sober for it.

In her book Being Kendra: Cribs, Cocktails, and Getting My Sexy Back, she said: “I had to be very drunk or smoke lots of weed to survive those nights – there was no way around it.”

Emotional abuse

It is also well established by former models that Hefner would often make them feel insecure about their appearances.

Many former stars have since spoken out about their cruel interactions with the ladies man who reportedly left them worried about their looks.

Recalling one incident, Holly said: “’Don’t ever wear red lipstick again’, [Hefner] warned me in a low voice and turned toward the door.

“He paused and turned back around to survey my reaction. Deciding he hadn’t done enough damage, he served me one final blow before storming out of the room: ‘You look old, hard and cheap’.

Kendra also recalled a similar incident where he put her down because of her weight.

She reflected: “We were all in the limo on the way to a book signing with Hef when he pulled me aside. ‘Is everything okay?’ he asked.

“’I feel fat, Hef,’ I told him. ‘Everyone is so pretty. It’s making me insecure’.

“’Well, you look a little bigger’, he said honestly. ‘Maybe you can go to the gym’,” she confessed.

The star went on: “When we got home, I went to my room and cried myself to sleep. I was disappointed in myself.

“I had this whole mansion and a great life to enjoy, and all I was doing was lying around and eating. I felt so lazy and miserable. This was supposed to be paradise, but for me, it wasn’t.”

Begging for money

Many playmates claim they were given $1000 allowance each week

It is understood that the live-in girlfriends each received $1,000 (£750) pocket money from Hefner himself each Friday, according to some models.

But it wasn’t always plain sailing getting their wage each week, with the Casanova reportedly using every opportunity to explain to them everything he thought they had been doing wrong.

In her book Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy Mansion, Izabella St James described the weekly grim routine.

She wrote: “We had to go to Hef’s room, wait while he picked up all the dog poo off the carpet – and then ask for our allowance.

“We all hated this process. Hef would always use the occasion to bring up anything he wasn’t happy about in the relationship.

“If we’d been out of town for any reason and missed one of the official ‘going out’ nights he wouldn’t want to give us the allowance. He used it as a weapon.”

Trapped in the mansion

While many have seen the stars partying the night away, the live-in girlfriends didn’t have much freedom in the infamous mansion, Kendra claimed.

She recalled some of the strict rules while living in the bachelor pad with the models forced to be home every night by 9pm which left her feel trapped.

The former girlfriend recalled: “Nights were hard because while my Playmate friends got to go out and party, I would have to be home by 9pm.

“I’d get a text message from a girl that read, ‘Having so much fun in Vegas. Whish you were here! Partying with all these football players’ and that was devastating.

“I felt so trapped and angry when I was missing out on something good.”

And she wasn’t the only one who felt suffocated in the lavish mansion, as Holly agreed, saying: “Everyone thinks that the infamous metal gate was meant to keep people out. But I grew to feel it was meant to lock me in.”

Strict rules

As well as a strict curfew and a weekly allowance, the models had to follow a series of house rules if they wanted to stay in the mansion.

If they girls were photographed outside of the house, they had to look perfect and were cruelly scolded if they appeared to be drunk.

It is understood the girls had to stay silent in the house whenever Hefner was being interviewed on the lavish property.

The ladies man only allowed them to dye their hair peroxide blonde but allowed them to get as much cosmetic surgery as they desired.

Residents were also told they couldn’t own their own cars, instead loaning a vehicle from the businessman and returning them when they left the mansion.

Catfights

Jealousy was rife in the Playboy mansion

With residents forced to live by strict rules while constantly fighting for Hefner’s attention, it is unsurprising that there were often bitter arguments between the girlfriends.

While Kendra, Holly and fellow girlfriend Bridget Marquardt appeared to get on well while filming the reality show Girls Next Door, the same couldn’t be said for the rest of the models.

Looking back over her years in the mansion, Kendra said: “During that first season, Bridget, Holly, and I continued to keep our distance, except when we were filming.

“We did our thing off camera, and there was an unspoken competition for camera time when the cameras were around.

“Each of us wanted the others to look good and be successful, but whether they will admit it or not, I think we each wanted the spotlight and to look the best in every episode.”

Holly later agreed with her comments, as she shared her experiences with jealousy between the other girls, especially when she landed the coveted position of number one girlfriend.

She explained: “Suddenly, Playmates who had once mocked me were kissing my ass, bringing me gifts and showering me with compliments now that I was Hef’s number one girlfriend.

“The sudden shift in the way some of those girls acted was completely obvious and shameless, but I suppose they thought I was too dumb to notice or that I would be so grateful to be treated kindly for a change that I wouldn’t object.”

With the sprawling home boasting 22-bedrooms, swimming pools and enormous gates to keep intruders out, the Playboy mansion looked every bit the height of luxury living.

But it’s fair to say the idea of the grand property couldn’t be further from the truth inside after former girlfriends shared their thoughts on the living conditions in the mansion.

Former Playboy models have previously revealed there was dog poo all over the house with porn strewn across every room in the extravagant property.

Melissa Howe later revealed the home included “dirty” carpets throughout the bachelor pad as she shared the poor state of the girls’ rooms in her book.

She said: “Although we all did out best to decorate our rooms and make them homey, the mattresses on our beds were disgusting – old, worn and stained. The sheets were past their best too.”
