Now they have successfully reunited for a tour S Club are plotting a TV reunion too.
The band first emerged as telly stars on the BBC show Miami 7 back in the 1990s, and the current quintet have come up with plans for a follow-up. Rachel Stevens revealed: “I’m up for another one, we have toyed with the idea and have come up with ideas for another one, how we would all be now. That was always gonna be part of S Club, the TV show like a modern day Monkees.”
Jo O’Meara added: “It would be very interesting to see what actually happened at the end because we need closure. But we would have to do it in London instead.”

A TV show might be on the cards but a film definitely is not. Tina Barrett laughed: “We did an S Club movie that was what put us over the edge, after that we split up.”
The Miami Seven TV show was set in the US and the band are set to tour over the pond for the first time ever later next month. Rachel can’t wait: “We spent so much time in America because we filmed the TV show there, it feels like second home but never toured.”
Jo added: “It’s new territory for us performing as a tour.” Tina said: “We look at America as special, as it’s, ‘wow everything is so big and glamorous’ .
“We always hear from American fans on social media.” The band reckon there are opportunities for pop stars today that weren’t afforded to them in their heyday.
Tina explained: “I remember it being loads of pop bands and indie in the 90s, but we were so uncool. Now it seems we’re ok. We are embracing it so much more now to go on tour at this scale is just unbelievable and we are really enjoying being together more than we ever have.”
The UK S Club tour ends in Birmingham on Sunday (October 29).
