The plot follows a crime and the consequences that follow in the six decades after, beginning right back in the 1930s.Wright was the youngest director to ever open the Venice International Film Festival at 35 and his project was a smash hit.Atonement was later nominated at the 80th Academy Awards and 61st British Academy Film Awards.
