Francis Rossi moans that not no-one wants to make a Status Quo biopic

The Status Quo legend said there would be no interest in a movie of the band because, although they made many great songs, that “upset many people”18:33, 08 Aug 2025Francis Rossi doesn’t think there’ll be a Status Quo movie(Image: Getty Images)Francis Rossi has moaned that no one would want to watch a biopic on his rock career.Movies based on music stars have been big business in recent years with hits like Elvis, Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody. But Francis admitted: “There’d be no interest in a Status Quo movie. I thought the Elton John one was all right. My daughter loved the Queen one. “I said, ‘It’s not true, I know what happened there and it’s not true.'”But she said, ‘You told me it was all showbiz.’ It was a great movie. We wrote some very good melodies, many great poppy, rocky songs. But that upset many people.”Rossi said the Queen movie was great but it wasn’t true(Image: Getty Images)The singer said he still has hopes instead that Quo tunes could feature in a musical like Queen-based We Will Rock You.He explained: “The best thing about the musical was that it wasn’t about the band. For a Quo musical you could just use the material.”Whether the music is as strong or as diverse is hard to say.”Rossi is going to keep on rocking until he drops(Image: Getty Images)Meanwhile, Francis told the new issue of Record Collector that he will keep on rocking until he drops as he doesn’t know anything else.He said: “One of the reasons I’m still working is selfishness. When I go out there it’s all I have to do.”I focus from the moment I get up to the moment I finish and then I focus on the following day. That’s all that really matters.”Although I’m off through August and I’ve made product I’m not allowed to talk about yet.”If I don’t have a show I wake up and think, ‘Jesus, I’m 76…'”Once you’ve sampled this, tasted this, you want to keep hold of it. I always have, and I still do.”Article continues belowFor the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here. More

Katie Price claims daughter Princess is ‘too scared’ to share truth about family ‘rift’

Ex-glamour model Katie Price has spoken out about the reported cracks between her and her daughter, after she didn’t appear in Princess’ new reality show12:54, 08 Aug 2025Katie said it was “wrong” for Princess to be put in a situation to explain the alleged rift(Image: Instagram/Katie Price)Princess Andre is “too scared to tell the truth” about an alleged family “rift” in the family, her mum Katie Price has claimed. The ex-glamour model and her eldest daughter have been plagued by rumours of tension between them in recent weeks, amid news that Katie would not feature in Princess’s own reality programme. The Princess Diaries follows Princess alongside her dad Peter Andre and stepmum Emily. The show focuses on her journey into adulthood after turning 18. At one point in the show, she said she wished for a better and happier childhood.Despite Katie maintaining a positive relationship with her children, she alleged that behind-the-scenes, whispers suggest a rift between her and Princess. Katie also claimed she was barred from the show, even though she was in Ibiza at the same time as Princess and had tearfully pleaded with the producers to let her back in.Now, the 47-year-old has hinted while Princess is starring in her own show and interacting with the press, she’s “too frightened” to disclose the truth. This came after Katie sparked concern among fans with her appearance in a family photo, following her explanation of her weight loss.Katie Price(Image: Getty Images)”I said to Princess ‘Have you seen any edits of the show?’ and she said ‘No’,” she disclosed on her podcast, The Katie Price Show. “So it’ll be interesting to see what’s cut out. I won’t be watching the show and I won’t be promoting the show because I don’t need it rubbed in my face of everyone playing happy families and regarding me as the other parent.”Although I support Princess and everything she does, I think it’s really wrong for her age to be put in this situation because she’s going to have to do press, and they will ask. Apparently they’re doing This Morning, Junior and Princess, they are going to be asked ‘What’s all this about your mum? Why isn’t your mum in it?'”Katie continued: “I think Princess would be too scared to tell the truth because Dad and management wouldn’t have me in it, which is the truth. Princess shouldn’t have that pressure; she should be enjoying it and not worrying about what her parents think. It’s very healthy for both parents to support their kids.”I know her management listens to my podcast, so I just want to say one thing, and it’s to all parents out there. Any parent out there, how would you feel as a parent that you’re so close to your child but then you’ve got other people taking them off you? Not letting you turn up or support your child? The 18-year-old stars in her own show, The Princess Diaries(Image: Reach PLC/James Rudland)”They just take them off you. They don’t acknowledge you. They don’t tell you anything. They don’t involve you in anything. How harmful is that to a mother? It’s so upsetting.”Princess is presently managed by CAN Group, the same management company that represents her dad. CAN also looked after Katie after her appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and throughout her marriage to Peter.Nevertheless, Katie has been open about her opposition to the firm managing Princess, claiming the director harbours ill feelings towards her since their professional relationship ended following her divorce from Peter in 2009.Katie was told that she couldn’t be “deleted completely”, but while she may be prevented from featuring on the programme, producers have most likely recognised they couldn’t create the show without referencing Katie.”When I was in Ibiza, Princess was there in Ibiza and I wasn’t allowed to meet up with her,” she revealed.Katie even claimed she was not allowed to meet up with Princess in Ibiza(Image: Katie Price/Instagram)During an evening out on the party island, Katie bumped into the producers of The Princess Diaries and broke down in tears, expressing her desire to be included.”I never cry,” she stated, before explaining that the producer witnessed her distress and “knew it was right” that Katie should be supporting her daughter.Article continues below”I don’t know where it’s going to go from here, but it’s alright for them not to have me in the show, but I’m alright to be used for headlines for the show.” More

I eat cheese and butter and I love a drink.”But the deal I struck with myself was I have to run for my rosé wine in the summer and run for my red wine in winter. And I don’t do it because I feel I have to; I do it for my own discipline and dignity.”Article continues belowHave you joined Threads? Former Saturdays singer and Loose Women star Frankie Bridge has sparked speculation about a rift after the TikTok post in which she says the person said something to her years ago10:20, 08 Aug 2025Updated 11:33, 08 Aug 2025Frankie Bridge has sparked rumours of a feud during her holiday in the Maldives(Image: ITV1)Frankie Bridge has hinted at a feud after saying “you’re dead to me”.The 36-year-old shot to fame as a singer in The Saturdays with bandmates Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Vanessa White and Una Healy. Frankie is now a regular on ITV’s Loose Women and is currently holidaying in the Maldives with her footy star husband Wayne Bridge. But she made a cryptic dig at an unknown person, suggesting they’re no longer friends after something they said to her “five years ago”. Frankie took to TikTok with the video, which showed her sipping on a glass of wine and was soundtracked by Avril Lavigne’s hit What The Hell. She wrote: “You’re so quiet… Thanks, you said something five years ago and I’ve just realised you’re actually dead to me.” In the other caption of the post, she added: “Takes me a while, but once you’re dead you’re dead.”She posted a video on TikTok about an unknown person who is now “dead” to her(Image: TikTok)Some fans have speculated that the post was about her Saturdays bandmate Rochelle Humes. However, Frankie’s representatives told Daily Mail there is “absolutely no feud” between the pair and those close to Rochelle told The Sun insisted there is “no feud”.It’s also been reported by The Sun that Frankie and Rochelle has been in a feud with pal Myleene Klass. Those close to Frankie said the post was not aimed at Myleene and that there’s no issue between them. Daily Star has contacted representatives of Frankie, Rochelle and Myleene for comment.Frankie has previously denied a feud was the reason the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2014. She told Hello!: “We never fell out. We never really officially broke up or anything, so the option [to get back together] has kind of always been there.”She mentioned that the person had said something to them “five years ago”(Image: TikTok)However, she has admitted that she realised she was struggling with her mental health during her time in the band. She said: “I always had stomach aches.”Can you remember Pepto Bismol? The pink horrible stuff? That would be in my bag, every day, because I always had like a funny tummy, like nervous stomach. At bedtime I couldn’t breathe properly and things like that.”So I think like the anxiety was there, like I remember all of that, but I didn’t know what it was. So I’d have like blood tests all the time and things like that and obviously nothing ever came back and back then I was just a ‘worrier’ – y’know, like it wasn’t what it is now, do you know what I mean? But I think for me, the first time I realised that it was like a proper issue was actually in The Saturdays.”Both Frankie’s representatives and those close to Rochelle have denied a feud despite speculation from fans(Image: Aimee Rose McGhee/Dave Benett/Ge)In 2021, Rochelle revealed the band still see one another but hadn’t discussed a reunion. She said: “We all see each other, but we’ve not had a conversation about that. I just can’t imagine doing that again.”Rochelle, who now hosts This Morning, said her life has changed now that she’s a mum (to three kids with JLS star Marvin Humes). The star told The Sun: “Everything has to fit around them. Even thinking about the band reunion, it wouldn’t work for my life now as my priorities are them.Article continues below”For half-term, I took two weeks off and everybody still tried to call me, but I was like: “No, I’m not working.” I’m not on my phone and I’m really present for them.”Have you joined Threads?
