Dominic West's wife Catherine finally speaks out to address Lily James scandal

Dominic West’s wife Catherine FitzGerald has broken her silence after her husband was snapped getting cosy with actress Lily James.

Lily, 31, and Dominic, 51, sparked mass speculation after images of them seemingly kissing and cuddling were taken during a trip to Rome.

In response, Catherine and Dominic posed for a bizarre photocall outside their house with a hand-written note saying they were “very much still together”.

Now, Mail Online reports that Catherine, 49, told a reporter: “We’re fine, thank you very much, yes we are.

“Things are OK between us. We don’t need any advice from anyone, thank you.”

A source close to Catherine adds to the publication that she was left devastated by the images last month.

A close friend reportedly said: “Yes, Catherine was devastated and humiliated by the pictures of Dom with Lily.

“And it’s well documented and clear what his views on infidelity are.

“It may surprise a lot of people but that doesn’t mean their marriage is close to ending. They have had some difficult discussions but are still very much together.

“They’ve got a lovely family and she wants to do everything she can to keep it together.”

Within hours of the images circulating around the world, Lily pulled out of a string of promo appearances that had been planned to promote her new Netflix film Rebecca.

As well as US TV, Lily had been due to appear on The Graham Norton Show.

Catherine’s united comments come amid reports those close to the couple claim she is “ready to pull the plug” on the marriage.

A family friend is said to have told The Sun: “Catherine has told those closest to her that Dominic has admitted having feelings for Lily.

“At first it seemed as though the whole thing was just a one-off but Catherine has since said it’s become obvious it was more than that.

“Catherine feels crushed by it, naturally. It’s a huge thing to be coming to terms with.

“She has since told the people closest to her their marriage is as good as over now and she doesn’t think there is a way past this.”

Daily Star Online contacted representatives of Dominic West for comment.
