James Blunt flew 1,400 miles for chicken wings – despite being an “environmentalist”.
The singer, a former British Army captain, plants a tree for every ticket to one of his gigs. He also starred in Live Earth at Wembley in 2007.
But James, 46, whose hit You’re Beautiful was No1 in 10 countries, confessed to booking a flight
because he fancied some chicken.
He said: “I once took a return flight from LA to Albuquerque, just to sample the spicy wings at a place by the side of the freeway.”
The three-hour, 30-minute return flight is around 1,400 miles.

Yet the singer, educated at £40k-a-year Harrow School, has shown a trailer for 2006 documentary movie An Inconvenient Truth at past concerts to warn about the threat of global warming.
Blunt, who lives mostly in Ibiza, recently said he lives almost “off-grid”, and his wife is studying for a degree in sustainability.
Earlier this year, he admitted he was “entirely hypocritical” about the environment.

He said: “My wife is very active in helping the ocean regenerate. And then there’s me who creates this
incredible carbon footprint by travelling the world on these tours.
“My house in Ibiza is effectively off-grid. We have water from a well, and the sun is my heating and
my power.
“But nothing is ever going to make up for my carbon footprint, so I can’t preach because I am one of the most guilty.”
In comes after Blunt says he was diagnosed with scurvy – after having a meat-only diet.

The singer, 46, revealed he became a carnivore for two months during his student days because he was surrounded by vegan pals.
But the You’re Beautiful hitmaker ended up being diagnosed with the disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C.
James told the Table Manners with Jessie Ware podcast: “On the sociology [course] side of things there were 170 girls and only three boys, of which all the girls were vegetarian or vegans.
“So out of principle I decided I’d become a carnivore and just lived on mince, some chicken, maybe with some mayonnaise.
“And it took me about six to eight weeks to get very unhealthy and see a doctor, who then said ‘I think you’ve got the symptoms of scurvy’.
“He said you are really lacking in vitamin C so I took it upon myself to drink orange juice every night – then I nearly developed acid reflux.”
