Jordan North stranded in London over Christmas leaving his mum in tears

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 runner up Jordan North has revealed he is stuck in London for Christmas.

The Radio 1 presenter had planned to travel north to spend Christmas with his family but due to the ever-changing social distancing rules has been left unable to get home.

Jordan explained that the decision to put the capital and much of the South East in Tier 4 lockdown has resulted in “lots of tears” when his mum discovered if meant she wouldn’t see him over the festive period.

Speaking on Thursday’s Christmas Eve’s edition of Lorraine with stand-in presenter Andi Peters, Jordan said: “I was planning on going home after my show today [Christmas Eve] then the announcement happened so like other people I can’t travel home.

“Mum was gutted. She was heartbroken.

“There was a lot of tears this week – we are all going through it and we are to make the most of it.”

Opening up about life since leaving the Welsh TV castle, Jordan said: “My friend said ‘you being sick on a cliff changed you life’.

“Since leaving it has been good – it has been hectic though.

“It is good to be back on the radio is keeping me grounded.”

In a cruel twist of fate, Jordan returned back to his central London flat to discover his sofa had gone meaning he had to relax in camping chairs.

The presenter continued: “Yeah, I have been watching loads of TV but I got back from the castle, and was borrowing a sofa from my friend, when I got back I found it had gone as he needed it back.

“I have been on camping chairs ever since. It isn’t what you need.”

Shutting down claims he played up to the cameras during his time on I’m A Celeb after being accused of hyping up his fear of heights, Jordan said: “A few people have asked me about being sick on the cliff, yeah I am terrified of heights.

“Anyone who knows knows that.

“When I was sick we weren’t filming and we had lamb hot pot before filming.

“I wolfed it down me and I looked over the edge and then I thought was going to be sick.

“It was off camera and then the camera men were trying to film me.”
