Lewis Burton suggests he spoke to Caroline Flack 10 minutes before her death

Caroline Flack ‘s boyfriend Lewis Burton has spoken candidly about the tragic death of his girlfriend and late Love Island star .

Caroline was just 40-years-old when she took her own life in February while waiting to appear in court on charges of assault by beating of Lewis.

During a chat on friend Steven Sulley’s YouTube channel, Lewis hinted he spoke to Caroline minutes before she died.

Lewis said: “My outlook on life is totally different.

“One minute you’re with someone and the next minute they’re gone.

“Within a 10-minute space of speaking to someone on the phone to never going to see them again. It’s f**king mad.

“You can’t explain it. It is what it is. It has changed my life.

“Everything I do now, I’m worried. I worry when I leave the house will I see that person again?

“I worry every day now. My mum rang me last night about 9.30pm in the evening and I’m f**king panicking on the phone.

“I’m thinking I don’t want to answer that. I’m very jumpy now.”

Lewis was on a skiing trip when he found out Caroline had passed away.

Recalling her final few months, he said: “That time we were going through was just so difficult, you couldn’t really see a way out.

“Obviously, she couldn’t unfortunately, but it’s a very difficult situation.

“I don’t talk about it. I put it in the back of my head and just get on with it.

“When I got that phone call you felt like your life was done. I was away at the time. I was skiing. I just dropped to the floor. I’ll never forget it. I’ll never forget it. I think about it every day.”

Fighting back tears, he continued: “Do you know what’s hard?

“It’s such a shame that in her head she couldn’t see a way out.

“That’s a mental health but if she just knew that it passes, everything passes.

“She had me. I was standing by her. It’s heartbreaking but it is what it is.

“You’ve just got to hope she’s in a better place.

“For me, it’s going to live with me… like I said, I think about it every single day but you deal with it.

“Is it right or wrong how people deal with it? No. I don’t know how to deal with it. I’m just dealing with it how I know and I’m getting by.”

Referencing his new relationship with Lottie Tomlinson, Lewis added: “I’m lucky I have amazing family and friends. I’ve got a lovely girlfriend now that supports me massively.”
