Phillip Schofield's daughters – everything you need to know about Molly and Ruby

Phillip Schofield has bravely revealed he is gay in a heartfelt statement published on his Instagram page this morning.

The TV presenter, 57, broke down in tears on today’s edition of This Morning as he discussed coming out to his daughters Molly and Ruby and their reaction.

During an emotional interview with co-host Holly Willoughby, he said: “I wasn’t easy [telling my daughters]. But they are so amazing in their love and support.

“They jumped up and gave me a hug, a big hug, a long hug.

“They hugged Steph and said, ‘It’s OK, this is fine.’

“We’ll always be a family. Always, us four, is what we call ourselves.”

The girls’ reaction comes as little surprise considering how close Phil has been to his daughters.

Molly, 26, works alongside her dad as an assistant talent manager at James Grant group, which represents Phil and pal Holly, 38.

She is often seen by her dad’s side at events showing her support.

Phil’s youngest daughter Ruby, 23, has just finished studying at Leeds Becket.

She is just as close to her dotting father and often parties with her famous parents and joins them on lavish holidays,

Last year the Schofield clan went to the Maldives and shared several pictures of their time away together as a family.

Phillip is known for taking time off This Morning during the school holidays, despite them being adults, to make sure he spends as much quality time with them as possible.

The TV personality has previously admitted that he pays their phone bills and that Ruby and Molly are “daddy’s girls”.

He said: “I pay both of my girls’ phone bills and I pay them on the absolute condition that I am constantly kept in the loop.

“The minute they go quiet I tell them they’re going to have to pay and it’s amazing how quickly they get in touch.”

In a bid to prevent becoming an “embarrassing dad” he even checks his social media posts with his children before pressing send.

“I don’t post anything without their say-so,” he said. “I check with them, is this okay? But they’re fine with it.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10pm.
