Rebekah Vardy & Coleen Rooney 'set to come face-to-face in court within weeks'

Rebekah VardyColeen Rooney have reportedly verified a date for their libel dispute and it could see the pair lock horns in High Court within just a matter of weeks.

In a possible 21 days, legal teams will be busy preparing for the so-called “meanings hearing” which will provide an opportunity for each party to express their version of events.

This will mean that Coleen, 34, will have to delve into personal details when it comes to presenting her argument about Dancing on Ice star Rebekah’s social media account producing fake stories.

Despite the mum-of-four, previously airing she felt uncomfortable about airing her dirty laundry, she will have to provide “reasonable grounds” for suspecting Jamie Vardy’s wife, 38, of leaking stories to the press.

According to The Sun Online, the WAG’s will kick off the “meanings hearing” on November 19.

The publication also claimed that Wayne Rooney’s wife will need to argue the point of “directly or indirectly”, pointing the finger in Becky’s direction.

Daily Star Online has contacted representatives of Coleen and Rebekah for comment.

Explosive accusations were made last year by Coleen as she pinpointed Rebekah’s Instagram account as being responsible for selling stories to the newspaper.

In the “meaning hearing” Coleen will need to discuss private issues in order to strengthen her case

In a bid to catch out, the mum-of-five Becky, the author of Coleen’s Real Style left spectators dumbfounded after she disclosed what appeared to be a cunning plan for catching the culprit.

However, in spite of her claims, Rebekah has always strongly denied accusations and later filed for legal proceedings to prove her innocence.

The legal dispute is said to be worth a hefty “£1million” sum, reports the Daily Mail.

It is expected that the hearing will take half a day, with neither Coleen nor Rebekah actually being present themselves.

If Rebekah is to be awarded the significant damages, she will also have to specifically prove her libel claim against the Manchester United hero’s other half.

Due to Coleen’s private nature, insiders had urged the bombshell to try to resolve matters outside of the courtroom.

A source told The Sun: “Things have gone much further than many had expected.

“Coleen is a rather shy and private person, so the idea of having personal matters relating to her and Wayne raked over in court is something that fills her with dread.”

It was claimed that Coleen had been encouraged to settle the dispute privately, soon after her rival took to day time TV to announce that she would be taking part in this year’s Dancing On Ice.

Rebekah claimed she wanted to take part in the ITV competition in a bid to “clear her name”.

She told Good Morning Britain: “We tried to sort things out amicably but it didn’t work. I understand people think it’s ridiculous but what was I meant to do?

“I need to clear my name, I want to clear my name.

“I will do whatever it takes, and I hope it’s going to be resolved soon.”
