Singer Will Young has revealed he has contracted coronavirus.
The vocalist who rose to fame after winning Pop Idol in 2001 confided in his social media followers on Tuesday afternoon to share his diagnosis.
Will, 41, believed he had “almost got away” with testing positive for the virus which continues to wreak havoc across the nation after a new mutant strain was announced.
Taking to his Instagram page, Will looked dispirited as he posed for a selfie to inform his followers of his news.
While keeping himself stylish, the singer rocked a grey sweater over a green and white striped shirt as he looked into the camera lens.

Captioning his post, he penned: “Covid strikes!! Almost got away with it…” before hitting publish.
Taking to Twitter moments after his revelation, fans shared their love for Will as well as sending their best wishes.
One fan tweeted: “Will looks so worn out and fed up. He doesn’t look good at all – it’s worrying. Please send him all the love guys.”

A second added: “Oh no, you don’t look good. Rest up and feel better soon.”
“At least you made it to the last month in the year. That’s something to be proud of lol. Feel better!” added a third.
The shock news comes after Will took to his Twitter page, revealing that his dad was in the high-risk category.
Will’s positive test was just one of the thousands of cases that continue to be confirmed across the four corners of the nation, with a staggering 36,804 positive cases being confirmed on Tuesday, December 22.
It’s believed that the number of cases have more than doubled since last week when an estimated 18,450 positive cases were recorded.
