Cat Deeley 'tipped for Strictly Come Dancing stint' as she quits LA for London

Cat Deeley is being tipped for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after reports emerged that she is leaving LA after 14 years to return to the UK.

The television presenter has reportedly put her Beverly Hills mansion up for sale to move back to London with her husband, fellow presenter Patrick Kielty, and their two kids.

And the timing has now got tongues wagging that she could be set to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes reckon it’s quite likely, giving the blonde bombshell odds of 6/1 to appear on the BBC dancing competition in 2020.

Jessica O’Reily of Ladbrokes said: “Cat Deeley’s everyone’s cup of tea and what better way to announce her return to UK television than with a stint on Strictly.”

It has already been announced that Cat, 43, will be reuniting with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for a special SM:TV Live.

According to reports, the trio of Saturday morning legends will get back together for a special one off to celebrate Ant and Dec’s 30 years on television.

If Cat does take part in this year’s Strictly, her experience won’t be like the previous years due to the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing guidelines.

It has been reported that contestants will have to quarantine before taking part in the show due to the close working environment.

It will also be a shorter series than usual, with a rumoured start date of October 24, according to The Sun.

The BBC has announced four special episodes which could take the place of those four episodes that would normally feature this year’s contestants competing.

And it has been confirmed that judge Bruno Tonioli will still be involved with the show despite living in the US.

He will be keeping an eye on the celebrities’ progress and be involved virtually on the Sunday night shows.

Bruno will also make his grand return to the show towards the end of the series.

He said: “I absolutely adore being part of Strictly and can’t wait to see what incredible dancing this year has in store!

“Lockdown has resulted in me being in LA for the foreseeable, but I’m excited to be involved as much as I possible can.

“There was no cha-cha-chance I’d miss out!”
