Coronation Street fans were left feeling concerned during this evening’s trip to Weatherfield as Gail Platt was mysteriously absent.
David and Sarah Platt were horrified to discover a sinkhole had emerged in the garden lawn, throwing their lives in danger.
The family had been planning a barbecue for the afternoon, but David claimed Gail had taken the kids out for the day.
Suddenly, the ground fell through, giving way to an enormous sink hole in the middle of the grass.
The family was forced to move to a hotel for safety, with David, Shona Ramsey, Sarah, and the kids spending the night in the five-star establishment.
However, viewers were confused about Gail’s absence, as she was nowhere to be seen amid the drama.

Taking to Twitter, Corrie fans debated where Gail could be, making it clear she ought to be part of the traumatic storyline.
One said: “Where’s Gail while all this is going on?”
And a second added: “I hope #Gail’s not down that hole, we’ve not seen her for a while.”

While a fourth said: “Where is Gail?”
Actress Helen Worth has yet to return to the cobbles after the lockdown, but she opened up about her return to filming back in May.
Speaking on This Morning, she said: “I mean, I can’t tell you because of lockdown. I haven’t got any scripts.

“I have absolutely no idea about what’s going on. I can’t tell you, I can’t give anything away, which is lovely safety.
“I can’t give anything away because I actually don’t know.”
