Danny Hicks, best known for his starring role in Evil Dead II, and appearing in director Sam Raimi’s films, has died aged 68 after battling cancer.
His company Full Empire Promotions confirmed his death via a video on their Facebook page.
They wrote alongside the clip: “On June 30, 2020 we lost a friend, client, and talent actor in Danny Hicks. Here is our tribute to the star of Evil Dead 2, Intruder, Darkman, and so many other classic horror films. We will miss you Danny!”
Earlier this year, Danny announced he had been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

He said in the announcement: “I have been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer,” he wrote, adding, “I have approximately 1 to 3 years to live.
“I gotta tell ya, I sure as hell packed a whole bunch of living into my 68 years.
“I got no change coming back that’s for sure. And not too many regrets.
“Ok, gotta go, I’m gonna find out just what in the hell is going on down in that fruit cellar,” he then playfully quipped.

In one of the final updates on June 16, Dominic Mancini of Full Empire Promotions wrote the actor was not sleeping or eating because he was in so much pain.
“I could not keep him on the phone longer than 3 or 4 minutes,” wrote Mancini.
Days later, he reportedly had a fall and was taken to the ER. He was released, but his passing was announced earlier today.
