Good news for Friends fans, as the reunion special is set to start filming in August after the initial release date was postponed.
The highly-anticipated reunion special was scheduled to air in May, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was shelved until it was safe to film adhering to the current restrictions.
Friends first aired in 1994 and ran for ten seasons until the much-loved show wrapped in 2004 – and the reunion special marks the first time the main cast will be seen all together since the programme’s nail-biting finale.

“We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open,” she told The Wrap.
“If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August.”
The cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, will return to Burbank Studios where Friends was filmed for the special.
Since the episode was announced, speculation has mounted surrounded the format of the show, and Lisa, who portrayed Phoebe Buffay on the hit series let slip there’s an epic twist for viewers.
Speaking to the press to promote her new Netflix comedy Space Force, Lisa was asked how the programme will run and whether it’s a sit down chat or the cast divulging in behind-the-scenes secrets.
“There are other things in it,” she replied.
