GMB chaos as presenter nearly swept off feet in live Hurricane Laura report

Things turned chaotic on Good Morning Britain this morning as a weather presenter was nearly swept off their feet during a live Hurricane Laura broadcast.

GMB presenters Ranvir Singh and Sean Fletcher were forced to end the broadcast as the reporter was nearly swept off their feet.

NBC reporter Jay Gray was standing in the middle of the storm in Louisiana, United States, when he was nearly pushed over by huge gusts of winds.

Gray was seen struggling to stand still and desperately clung to his cap as he battled the weather.

Clearly fearing for his safety, Ranvir said: “I think maybe we should leave you.”

Sean added: “‘I think for your safety Jay, we’re going to have to leave you.”

Viewers also feared for his safety, judging by concerned comments on Twitter.

One wrote: “So irresponsible from news channels to send someone out in those conditions #gmb.”

While another added: “@GMB watching a reporter in danger isn’t necessary. Let the poor man go to safety.”

A third chimed in: “Let the man get the safety! We get it @GMB.”

It’s predicated Hurricane Laura will cause an ‘unsurvivable’ storm surge, extreme winds and floods in the US, according to the National Hurricane Centre.

The storm is currently approaching Texas and Louisiana with maximum sustained wind speeds of 150mph.

If those speeds continue, it would be one of the strongest storms to ever hit the US south coast.

Half a million residents have so far been told to vacate the area.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
