This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby was left annoyed as she was mistaken for a sex doll during Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV daytime show.
Things began as Holly and Phillip Schofield chatted to businesswomen Jade Stanley this morning (September 29) about the soar in sex doll sales during the coronavirus pandemic.
The duo were joined on the famous sofa by life-size sex doll Bella during the segment.
Blonde beauty Holly, 39, joked she’d been “replaced” by Bella and later went on to explain how one of the crew members had actually mistook the sex doll for her.
Throughout the interview, Holly expressed her unease at being sat next to the sex doll, which was donned with a blonde wig.
The mother-of-three was not impressed with the comparison and told Phillip , 57, that she was shocked she had been mistaken and been replaced for the human-like product.
Viewers at home rushed to their keyboards to discuss the segment.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Tell me you are not seriously interviewing a sex doll?! Sorry, haven’t got the TV on at the moment.”
Another added on the social media platform: “Sex dolls sales quadrupled in lockdown?! Excuse me while I go vomit.”
A third ranted: “That’s just rude! Mistaking a sex doll for Holly Willoughby. Rude.”
While a fourth posted: “Literally can’t cope. Bella the sex doll sat there between Holly and Phil. It’s not even lunch time.”
Beginning the segment, Bella had been nestled in between Holly and Phil on the sofa.
Phil laughed as he gestured between Holly and Bella, who had straight long blonde hair and wore a floral wrap dress.
Holly looked unimpressed as Phil giggled: “You two!”
“Have you replaced me already?” Holly asked. “You’ve upgraded me for a better model!”
Jade explained that the dolls, which she charges anything from £1,300 to £8,000 for full customisation, can warm up and can have a voice-box which can be inserted.
Holly declared at the end of the interview: “We will send Bella back, immediately!
“A member of the studio, I won’t say who, saw it sitting on the sofa and asked if it was me.”
It comes after the news that sales of sex dolls have soared during the coronavirus crisis, with frustrated singletons forking out thousands for the high-tech “love aids”.
With lockdown stopping people from socialising or dating in a traditional sense, makers of the life like vessels from across the world have seen a surge in enquiries and orders.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
